Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

omg duck tape bubble wrap to their asses.  The road kill guys crack me up every time.  Anyone else notice how the work started in finnegans garrage in alabama or gorgia or whatever but the truck somehow magically was at the shop in california when it was done?

There's something cool here - you just can't see it.

It's got a lil bit. The bumper and fender and whatnot can get bent. I'll grab a screenshot later when I get on the puter

but i wished that there was some serious damaged, like if you accidentally screwed up and you end up hitting a wall, things get seriously bent, like beamng, where crashing into stuff can render your car dead.

idk maybe it's less like beamng but more of an actual racing simulator. but it would be great to have real damage.

Just added everything up. Total cost for the headgasket job was $638.48. Not too bad.

I bet a shop around here would of been closer to $2k lol

I know my citys roads were bad, but its amplified when you run an IndyCar on them. The Exhibition Grounds are far from the worst offenders in Toronto.

Ugh. Our water is really really hard, so whenever I wash my car I get really bad water spots, even if I finish washing and try to dry the car in the garage. Total first world problems, I know, but it makes me so mad.

So looking at the brakes on the Miata today since the fronts were dragging a bit. Didn't really see anything. Crazy. The slide pins were completely black and gritty though. Cleaned them off real good.

is there any other anti-drag stuff other than these little clips on a Miata?

Brake pads looked fine to me. Inside was a little more worn than the outside. But the side I'm working on right now isn't as bad as the other side.

I don't really know much about the condition of calipers so I snapped a pic of that one.

Hmm I put it back together and started the car, depressed the brakes a few times and it's still grabbing the rotor. I.e. The pads aren't springing out.

Any ideas?

its not that the pads are clinging solid. It releases some but the brake pads continue to rub the disk a little bit and it resists turning a little.

Actually did a little research. They have little "M" shaped clips that hold the brake pads part when the pedal isn't depressed. Mine are completely missing. O'reilly in town has them in stock for $8 yay

Less of car discussion and more of a try for help, I figured I might as well ask here to see if people with more experience than me can help out.

In my 2005 Mazda 3 sedan I'm trying to replace the bulbs in the climate control dials which seems to be pretty easy..once the module is removed. Im having a lot of difficultly removing the module so I can get to the bulbs.

I've got it pretty much stripped down, http://imgur.com/a/hgEfJ And I think at this point its the cables for the controls that are giving me trouble as the bottom of the module is completely lose, the tension is up top and this is where the cables are (and they are pretty taught while the cables have slack). The problem is I can't seem to find anything online about how to remove this, all the guides for the newer Mazda's simply show them sliding the module out once their at the point I am.

I found some really old guides online and one referenced removing some cables in the hood, possible the cables im working with now? The issue was its so old all pictures that were linked were broken so I couldn't follow as it left the difficult parts explained in picture (A common issue when trying to find guides for my car)
