Car Enthusiast Club [Now Motorcycle friendly!] - First thread to 150k! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

You should close the majority of the bottom like the new 1.0 focus is. One massive skid plate.

If I ever lower a car more than an inch I'm gonna go about getting some street signs, and make an entire skid plate that I can take apart if I need to access hte underside some how

Until you need to turn off the display. And honestly, i don't want anything other than a disk player, usb port, skip/back and play/pause, and a volume button. No silly nav, no screen, just legal controls, and a knob.

Bluetooth is a great feature. Absolutely love having it

xD I forgot Cam yoinked that slow children at play sign a while ago for a skid plate. If I end up doing a 5.3 or 5.7 swap in my s10 I will be putting some skid plates in because the oil pan will hang down a fair bit.

This would be nice too, mine actually doesn't have that. Most of the time I've actually got my phone in its mount so I have to ignore it.

I want to get a stop sign, a Dick Street sign (a local street), some speed limit signs, and maybe a no u turn sign, or a turning road sign.

No stop signs man. Unless you buy one off of someone, don't go liberating any. That's just waiting to cause someone to get killed.

I know of some people that have some. I'd throw some cash their way

I wanna get one of those netbooks for datalogging in the s10, though, there's not much to log. It starts and works just fine. it would be very boring data to watch.

I love data. Can I get a good photo of your truck to show to my roommate?

speaking of computers. i just want mine to be up and running again. i think i bricked it because of constant reinstalling windows 8, but i think it's because there's so many leftover boot files i think i need to get rid of it.

Stop signs are weird. We barely have them over here... And I can only think of one four-way-stop off the top of my head... It's mainly just yield signs that we've got.

I prefer it over the newer gens. Has that Jap truck look.

I'm not a fan of anything 2nd gen or older mainly because I like having the electronic transmition and EFI, I don't wanna screw with carbs. Clean ones are sexy though. I found out that the squareish Suburbans have the e series trannies and EFI after '96 so that's good info for myself.

if i could own a minitruck, it would either be a datsun 1200, mazda b2200, or a toyota pickup. those are cool, especially with some nice rims and a decent drop and maybe a tune or even a swap.

If you're OK without a/c you can put whatever you want in them :P

dude. i live in the central valley of california. living without a/c in california in summer is trying to survive canada winters without a heater. it's just terrible.

Anyone else have an irrational fear of getting rear ended when braking even slightly hard?

it happens whenever my mom drives. i'm either worried she won't stop in time and hit the car in front, or she just jams her foot on the brake.

Later first gens had electronic transmissions with lock up torque converters. They also had EFI. They just have less room for swaps.

So much yes. Whenever its time to do slow-ie down-ie things I use all the room I have and crawl right up on the person in front of me. And leave my reciever hitch in all the time.

this almost isn't a good idea because if they hit you and you bump the car in front your at fault for the guy/gal in front :(

At least that's the rule here... or so i've been told.

Ah. I completly missed the last message which explains my reply to it.

Well for the A/C thing, drive faster with the windows down. That's what i had to do this summer before recharging my ac. 67 with the windows down = perfect. Also, with 100 degree weather, It takes about 1 and a half min for my motor to get halfway warmed up as I discovered. And yeah, I do not like riding with people that are either braking or not.

with windows, it's still just blowing in hot air. a/c at least blows in nice cold air.
