I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

anyone know any good rebody kits for a miata because not a huge fan of the body (but i need a car thats safer as i have said before) so i was wondering if you can buy a "kit car" that goes onto of the miata chassis and would the airbags still work if it was just a different body. (kind of a noob when it comes to more modern vehicle electronics)

Do you think a Lada(yes, lada, problem?) 2105 can fit a honda s2000 engine (without cutting)?

I am thinking of a sleeper build and as bmw and mercedes have become gypsy-mobiles(90% of gypsies drive a 316/18 or a 520, the other are mercedes E) and I already have the car(I also like the design, I always liked boxy/russian cars), I thought- why not? I would like a V8 but they are hard to find and the front is quite small.

That's my fear as well. Not a chance in hell they'll manage to pull it off though. At least not in the US. Especially if the police end up using automated cars.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind self-driving cars due to the majority of drivers nowadays being blithering idiots, but I don't want to be forced into being driven around by a computer either...

I have a solution to the self driving car problem.

Force the entire population to pass a difficult and insane (compared to what's already there, drivers Ed is way too easy) driving exam at 16 years of age.

Everything needs to be tested. Even how the driver handles bad situations.

And to make it even better, you have to redo the test every 10 years.

I do partially agree.. Except that I believe people younger than 18 can be good drivers if they are properly tested and have reached /said maturity level/ (though that is hard to test at times)

We also don't want 18 to become the new 16 either. People who can't drive at 16 means less will be able to work, so the adolescence period is likely to "stretch" to 18, and said maturity level not being reached fast enough.

Just so many factors that go into age... When really age can be just a number in some situations.

We need a way to figure out skill and maturity and benefit people who reach that level faster... Like give them privileges such as driving and working earlier in their lives.

I think for places like where I live, where we get decent amounts of snow etc. proper winter tires should be mandatory and a winter driving course should also be mandatory. Too many people have no clue when conditions get slick and so much carnage/injuries/deaths could be avoided.

I also firmly believe that defensive driving and vehicle control/recovery techniques should also be mandatory courses to receive your full licence. Hammering the brakes IS NOT always the best thing to do in all situations. ;)

i dont think i would let 16 year old me behind the wheel either because i got into a bad accident. i was distracted i ended up going strait through a turn hit the guardrail and totaled my dads 2009 Porsche boxster  and that's probably why im not allowed to drive most of his cars now.

hmmm...

but my only concern is that would it be any different if you were 18 in that situation? First time driving is first time driving. You will have a distracted moment that ends terribly or almost ends terribly. I think we have all had one.

I put my corolla into the back of a truck for peat sakes(thankfully wasn't hard, if I wouldnt of had bald tires I would of been ok lol).. Since then I've learned and I pay much more attention now.

I can understand those types of incidents, not much you can do but drill the person over and over again in their driver's education how important attention and alertness is. But people being rude or doing stupid things(or flat out not knowing what to do) is not acceptable, and likely is a bigger problem.

For example: I just got back home from driving from Baton Rouge to Lafayette, on my way back I was passing someone (+5-7 over the speed limit, whoops.) There was a lady in a gold XC90 that came flying(im already going over the limit.... really?) behind me and sat on my bumper (one touch of the brakes=accident. HOW STUPID!) while I was passing the other car. Well unfortunately there was another car in right lane so I had to continue going straight, merging in was a little too close. She did exactly what I expected her to do. Cuts the car off in the right lane and then goes around me at full throttle and cuts me off. I of course honk for a rather long period of time... and she rolls down her window and points at the right lane lol

these people drive me insane. Their license should be revoked.

and it gets better...

all that speeding around traffic and she took the same exit as me. I was 2 cars behind her LOL

man... that makes me angry. risking all those people's lives to gain a second in time.

...sorry I needed to vent a bit there.
