Linus Sebastian for Canadian Order of Merit

bedocoman

I know Canadian citizens are not eligible for UK knighthoods, but they must have similar orders, decorations, and medals. I think we should start an internet campaign for Linus Sebastian to get awarded a Canadian honor.

Linus Sebastian is a successful entrepreneur, small business owner, advocate for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), and an example of Canadian fortitude.

Doing a quick google search, the Order of Merit sounds promising (http://www.gg.ca/document.aspx?id=14939). Lets try to get the attention of Justin Trudeau on this; he seems like a chill guy.

P.S. If he gets it, think of how adorable the family portrait is going to be with Linus all dressed up with a medal, Yvonne, and their kids; it would bring a tear to my eye.

...Let's... Let's look a little deeper into this...

Quote

Only four Canadians have been appointed to the Order of Merit: the Right Honourable William Lyon Mackenzie King (1947); Colonel Dr. Wilder Penfield (1953); and the Right Honourable Lester B. Pearson (1971). Recently, on October 20, 2009, the Right Honourable Jean Chrétien was presented with the Order of Merit.

So... Three prime ministers and a pioneer in the field of neurosurgery...  And you think that Linus should be #5, because he successfully runs his own business...?

I mean it's a lambo, I mean even trump doesn't currently own one so he must be really successful, possibly even more so than him :P

I'm not even sure where that Trump analogy goes. You look at the cars he's owned and you tell me he isn't successful.

The OP simply chose the wrong order, that's it.

If you are looking for some watered-down order that is a rough equivalent to knighthoods that are given away by the hundreds for stuff like being a succesful actor, entrepreneur and so on, just look at the Order of Canada :D

Hell, it even has a pdf form to fill for every Canadian to use if they wish to nominate someone :D
