What's the best upgrade you have ever done that's related to your PC?

I have used an old keyboard with membrane switches for 10 years, literally since I was a kid. It has never failed, but yesterday I found a nice deal ($40) for a mechanical keyboard with Kailh Blue switches and back light in a store so I thought why not change the old and letter-less (the paint are mostly gone for commonly used keycaps) keyboard. Now I found myself typing all the time, unable to stop.

 

What's the best upgrade you have ever done to your PC?

IPS 2560x1440 144hz Gsync monitor...hands down...changed everything.

I bought my RX 470 for 161CAD, then sold it for 290CAD and bought my GTX 1070 in the start of the mining craze :D

It's hard to say. I mostly have picked up bad cases in the past but because of my health now that I have a decent one I still had some trouble putting in things like the motherboard standoffs and specially the power, reset and led connectors.

 

Going up to a ryzen 1600 and 16gb of ram from a 4440 and 8gb ddr3 it's probably going to be fairly significant though but it's been 2 days remains to be seen.

upgrading my laptops CPU from an i3 3XXXM (can't remember which one) to an i7 3612QM, it was worth every penny (especially because it only cost £80) and I use the laptop for CAD either that or the upgrade from 8GB to 16GB which was again worth it because I was consistently using more than 8GB

swapping the "corsair H100i gt v2" AIO fans into quiet Noctua´s and getting half the dB output on high RPM instead of an jet taking off /s

The only upgrade I do with my PCs is to the video card. And usually for one generation. After that I get an itch to build and get a new PC.

Pretty simple one actually. I added more ram to one of my old PC's. It made a huge difference in performance.

Best Excuses:

        #1(simple) "Well, I never liked that stupid thing anyway!"

        #2(complex) "Obviously there was a flaw in the material, probably due to the inadvertent introduction of contaminants during the manufacturing process."

Best? 850 EVO

Worst? GeForce 6200... was the only AGP card left at the time and it didn't improve much over the off brand GPU it replaced.
