  1. What makes you want to upgrade from a 2070 Super? i.e. what games/resolution/refresh rate are you targeting? If you did upgrade, it would make more sense to sell the 2070 and just keep the 6800

  3. here's a list of 144hz, 1440p gaming monitors under £300: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/products/monitor/#X=0,30000&r=256001440&D=120000,280000
  4. Usually a quad-core H-series i5, a 1650 or 1650 Ti, 8GB RAM and a 256gb SSD or sometimes 1TB HDD. It varies widely depending on store and deal, but they will be quite capable at 1080p medium.
  5. Entry-level gaming laptops like the Dell G3 and HP Pavillion Gaming can be had on Black Friday for around $550-600
  6. A friend needs a new keyboard. He currently has one of those cheapo $30 Amazon ones with clicky Blue switches, and wants to switch to something a little nicer with Browns or Reds. The only real requirements is TKL or bigger (needs arrow keys) and backlighting (any color, but solid color or per-key RGB, not one of those fixed-rainbow ones). Also, should be black or dark colored, not white. I was leaning towards recommending a Corsair K63 or Logitech G610 Orion, but can't seem to find them on sale or even availiable much anymore. In the US BTW. TLDR backlit mec

    Free games

Valorant and Warzone are good options. As questionable as Epic Games may be, their launcher has pretty good free games every Thursday (so far I have Just Cause 4, the entire Batman Arkham collection, GTA V, a couple Asassins Creeds, and a bunch more). Rocket League will also be free to play soon on Epic Games.
  8. Why do you want to upgrade? Do you want more FPS/higher resolution, or are you doing content creation, or what?

The InWin 301 is white with some blue I/O lighting: https://www.amazon.com/InWin-301-Tempered-Micro-ATX-Mini-ITX/dp/B06XXSWWX6?th=1 It doesn't come with any fans, but since it's $70 you can pick up some fans for the extra $20. Here's a bunch of TG mATX mini and mid towers: https://pcpartpicker.com/products/case/#t=7,6&sort=-price&B=3,4&X=0,10000

Any aesthetic preferences (white, black, tempered glass, RGB fans included, etc.)?
  11. I'd go for a 3100, just make sure you get a decent mobo so you can upgrade down the line to a 4000 series or maybe even 5000 if it is supported.
  12. That's demonstrably false. Watch the LTT video... Higher FPS will help with frame timings and perceived input lag.
  13. I'd just wait to build, like @WambleCropped said a LOT of stuff is either out of stock/overpriced right now. Also a 2060 is a weird placeholder, for a value temporary I'd get a 1660 super/Ti or even a 1650 super.
  14. It's a great raw performer. Likely a better value than the 1650S at the same price, with the extra VRAM and also since AMD cards tend to improve more over time. I just wanted to stay away personally because of the driver issues and I also really like some of the extra Nvidia features like GameStream and Shadowplay.
  15. At the same price, probably EVGA, Gigabyte's is a bit loud. If the difference is more than the equivalent of ~$10 go for the Gigabyte and change the fan curve. I'm in the same situation too, about to buy a 1650 Super just waiting for them to be in stock
  16. Yeah, that's total BS. One drive is just fine.
  17. Love the case and the idea. I think you should try and mod a modern ATX, SFX, or SFX-L PSU in there. I wouldn't really trust a 15-year-old non-standard PSU with modern hardware.
  18. C# and Java have pretty close syntax, C# was literally designed as a Java clone by Microsoft.
  19. There's not a ton of reviews on the MSI Ventus 1650s, but the Gaming X is one of the coolest and quietest 1650 Supers. If you can get that, go for it. The Gigabyte OC (dual-fan) 1650s is also pretty well-cooled (and cheaper, at least in the US), it's just somewhat loud with the stock fan profile which you can change using Afterburner. The 580 8gb is also a decent option but at this point its like 4 years old
  20. This is great ^^ It's down to preference but you might want to go with a newer/more modern case with RGB/tempered glass/no 5.25in optical drive bays (I like the Phanteks P400A) and such, but if you don't care about looks the Focus G is fine. Newer cases will also tend to have more nice features like cable straps and such.
  21. Not necessarily, only if the SSD is NVMe. SATA-based m.2 drives are equivalent in performance to 2.5in SATA SSDs.
  22. Love the Z73's display. I'd go with front mount, thats a pretty big rad and I think it'll fit & look better in the front.
  23. I don't think the H710i comes with 6 fans... it comes with 3x120s up front (intake) and one 120 in the rear as exhaust. Is your AIO a 240, 280, or 360-rad? Most cases tend to have more space for radiator clearance in the front, so it won't interfere with motherboard connectors, RAM, etc.
  24. Yeah, reinstalling is really annoying having to get everything set up again... but seems like the best option now : (
  25. If you're not buying now, wait till you are actually buying. Prices and available hardware changes a LOT in 4 months! Now is also a bad time to buy due to COVID and everyone being home causing shortages and price increases for things like PSUs.
