Part of me wants to believe people are responsible enough to not take the image seriously and that society needs to stop being oversensitive/OP is overreacting.

It is a video where you clearly saw no-one get hurt. The thumbnail is what it is to confirm that no-one got hurt as well. Nothing bad happened because they are airsoft pistols.

I see where you're coming from, but I think you should have gone about it a different way. Demands get you nothing. Asking, or proving your point and suggesting it would. I'd also suggest you tag the appropriate people so they actually see your post, otherwise you'll really get nothing accomplished. I'd tag Linus and Slick to make sure they see your issue. Perhaps they'll have some reasoning behind the thumbnail, maybe they'll change it, who knows. I think you might have been a little quick with your post though. Tons of people play gun games, pointing guns at each other. I imagine the US sells more of those toys than any other country.

 

TL:DR - You're in no position to make demands. Make suggestions, and tag the appropriate parties.

Haha, yeah same here. I don't see any problem with it whatsoever if it were age controlled, but when it's easily seen by say 6 year olds, yeah the image might be a little much. Especially given the channels general purpose.

after 8 years in the military, the one thing you learn, is treat every weapon like its loaded.

even if it is airsoft, it depicts a weapon pointed at your own head. and perpetuates being unsafe with a firearm.

the video itself is fine, but the thumbnail should be changed.

I grew up around guns, I know ALL the safety precautions and shit, you don't see me bitching, if anyone hurts themselves by pointing a REAL gun at themselves then frankly it's better then them having kids, we don't need that level of stupid breeding anyway.

Also FYI airsoft guns are literally designed to be pointed at people.

They had protection alright, but if you ever fired an airsoft gun you should know that eye protection has to be wear for a reason at any time, even in safe/spawn points. Those can be very dangerous and are not your regular toys. Hell you always have to have safety on on guns as well for a reason. 

 

However I think this tread is unnecessary and that obvious is obvious.

I'd be willing to bet next to none. It would take extreme levels of stupidity to kill someone with a blank. You would literally have to go out of your way, and attempt to hurt someone with it. It's very difficult to do.

Actually @Statik, there have been several, number is unknown to me, actors who killed themselves by doing exactly the thing Nicky V was doing, when the gun was loaded with blanks, but they pulled the trigger out of sheer idiocy and incredible lack of understanding of physics. So yeah, people are idiots. But this thumbnail probably was not in good taste, even if OP may have overreacted somewhat.
