ya unfortunately i dont live in a fiber supported area, the most I can get i think is 300/30 from my cable company, right now im paying for 200/20 either way im happy with my speeds, its plenty for my wife to stream videos while i play games and my connection is perfect when i need to access my NAS while im out

now only if LTE speeds could increase past 20mbps...

We are directly connected to the trans-american backbone. Our routers can do multiple hundred of gigs per second. I am limited by the ethernet on the computer hahahahaha

ISP cannot be disclosed :P

The whole street in wired for gigabit speed internet, but I only have the 360 down and 20 up package.

Your router is not "crapping out". It's normal to not get a full 1 gig on a gigabit connection, its called TCP overhead. Usually the reason why people get, say, 220mbps on a 200mbps from their ISP is because the ISP provisions like 240mbps rather than 200mbps on the connection (which is possible because the physical link rate is theoretically 1 gigabit). Verizon can't provision greater than 1000mbps without using much more exotic 10GbE equipment for a residential customer, which makes no financial sense for them as most people's networks are not 10GbE ready and 10GbE routers are expensive. Also, if your router is crapping out, you should be seeing horrible pings and 2ms is quite good as pings go.

What you state is entirely possible. I'm not knowledgeable enough to say otherwise, but something is wrong on the wireless end of things (This test was run wired from my desktop). I asked for some help in the networking sub-forums regarding that matter.

Pretty pleased, going from about 50 down. Thankfully, my area doesn't seem to have been affected by Virgin's recent 'overutilisation' woes. The upload speed is poor, though.

About 2 years ago we finally got a 100mb Fiber ISP in my city. we basically pay half of what we used to pay for our lame 20mb dsl deal -.-

I'm pretty happy with mine. I'm promised up to 150 mbps, usually get upwards of 190. I have a data cap but it's 1TB. I will be upgrading my internet to the 300 mbps plan after I cut cable TV and switch to slingTV.

not terrible in this 3rd world country
Data cap exist,after 150 gb it goes down to 24 mbps which is terrible.
