Possible to turn a Micro SIM into a Nano SIM?

AlTech

So my new phone needs a Nano SIM but I have a Micro SIM. Is there any way to change a Micro SIM to effectively become a Nano SIM?

Or do I need to get a Nano SIM Card?

I've heard that cutting it sometimes works and sometimes does not, at least with cutting down a regular sim.  Not sure about micro SIM.  Besides the likely $10 or $15 fee, any reason you can't just get a new one?

You can trim it to fit, but it's easier to just get a new one. I work with Verizon and sim cards are free at corporate locations and when ordered via customer service.

Contact your carrier and request a new sim,  easy.

I have cut a SIM card before. Look up some templates and print it out. It's really simple

I don't think they produce or sell Rechargeable Nano SIM Cards. I'm using a rechargeable Micro SIM for now.......

Wait.. If you can just cut it then what's the purpose of having it bigger? Why is that even a thing if it serves no additional purpose?

Nano SIM came out a while after Micro SIM.

Nano SIM phones started showing up in 2012. Micro SIM has been with us since the days of the iPhone 3G and iPhone 4.

ive personally done cutting the sim card, and sometimes it works.

if the sim card was pre 2012 (the micro) then dont try, it'll probably fuck up

if it was post 2012, then you can try. it might not work also, but you have a higher chance of it working.

Ive done it twice. None so far. And I did not even do it properly. It was kinda a bad cut so I had to use force to make it fit inside the sim tray

what is a rechargeable sim? does that mean pre-pay? i dont know what your telcos are like but I can get a sim card off any provider from $2-$5 and they all supply a sim card with cut outs that make them fit any phone

Rechargeable?  Like, it stored power or something?  I didn't know that was a thing...

Rechargeable as in it's a pay as you go SIM and where you put money on it at a convenience store like 7/11.

It's basically a Pay As You Go system and you pay for each and every text message and phone call.

They're not super popular and thus IDK if I can get the carrier to provide a Nano SIM for me.

Oh, very strange... and ironic that the refills would be at a "convenience" store xD

You can find "refill" cards at drug stores too (Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid).

They look like this:

You can find them just about anywhere that sells gift cards or prepaid debit cards.
