If only I could grow a cellphone access point with unlimited data out of my ass though, I wouldn't bitch.

I'm sure Level1 Wendell could figure something out for this set up though so jury is still not out on the idea.

That is true: every fucking time Nintendo is on the vergue of a good product they find a way to ruin. There's other fucking games most of us should be playing so touche MANIDY.

after reading all the comments towards my opion i can see why (and from the start) people dont like it, i cant really seeing it affect that many people seeing as most have a phone with data, yes even kids.

but nintendo making a runner game, like thats what i made when i first was learning to code games. they can do better. I think thats the real issue here xD

( im guessing they see it as free money from IAP if it has those )

Everyone should own a vive.

Mobile Data is expensive. As a gaming company is not exactly your fault that happens to be the case but it's so incredible near sighted even a mole would tell you "WTF dude how did you not see THAT coming?"

okay well its 6gb unlimited, so after 6gb it just gives you slower speeds, but the only diffrence i notice in speed is when im trying to watch HD porn on my phone takes a while to load, everything else its not slow enough to get annoyed

Nintendo, the company which is behind the Wii U and more recently the Switch, has decided to require users of their new mobile game "Super Mario Run" to have an active internet connection whilst playing the game.

This is allegedly to ensure that customers of Super Mario Run do not pirate the game according to the creator of Mario, Shigeru Miyamoto.

Quote

For us, we view our software as being a very important asset and also for consumers who are purchasing the game, we want to make sure that we're able to offer it to them in a way that the software is secure [...] We wanted to be able to leverage that network connection with all three of the [game] modes to keep all of the modes functioning together and offering the game in a way that keeps the software secure.

When asked about security, Miyamoto confirmed that it is to stop people pirating the game.

Quote

When asked if “security” referred to the risk of piracy, Miyamoto said: “That’s correct.” He added that Nintendo had considered making the single-player World Tour story mode available offline, but that doing so would have “[complicated] the connection back to the Toad Rally and Kingdom modes,” which rely on mobile data.

Hooray, don't you love it when a large corporation effectively puts DRM in their game to make sure it's not gonna be pirated?

/s

This is stupid and honestly, like all other forms of DRM, punishes the legitimate customers who paid money for the game.

And of all games, really Nintendo? You expected people to pirate a mediocre game which happens to have Mario in the name?

This will just make pirates want to pirate it then... Pirates crack things because they see a challenge. Always online DRM is easy to crack, they'll have it cracked in no time.

Inb4 Nintendo did this on purpose to publicise the game more and get more people interested in what it is.

Nintendo has gone so far past full retard at this point, there's really no reason to even pay attention to them.

The only real miracle is that they still have customers.

Nintendo needs a swift and just death.

The only thing that needs to survive is their intellectual property.

I really wish someone with A LOT of money, would buy them out, fire their entire upper management and Shigeru, and start making PC games with their entire theater of games.

Would you buy a Legend of Zelda with amazing ass graphics like this?

I know I would. I'm surprised Nintendo hasn't sued the ever loving shit out of this guy for showing what LoZ could be, if only Nintendo would fucking try for once in its life.
