Is Awesomesauce Network really changing its name to BitWit?

ThinkWithPortals

So, if you were unaware, Kyle changed his channel's name from "AwesomeSauce Network" to "bitwit" (Kyle specified no caps)

What are your opinions on the change? Personally, I don't mind the name (I'll still call it AwesomeSauce Network out of habit) but I think the no caps thing was a mistake. IMO, bitwit looks a bit unprofessional, I think Bitwit or BitWit would be a lot better. Thoughts?

UPDATE: Kyle changed it, added caps to make it "BitWit". Much better IMO.

I never liked his old name, but his new name is kinda meh too.

Indeed. Nitwit is a mild insult, along the lines of "idiot" "moron" or "imbecile".

Yeah. It's not great. ASN wasn't great either mind you, but it was defiantly easy to remember!

I think this could really be a big mistake. I'm not an expert, but doesn't re-branding a widely known name/franchise fail most of the time? I'm curious as to what you guys think about this in general.

I understand his reasoning but the name is just stupid...

If it was something better than bitwit, like DankHarambetech then sure

BitWit feels really scammy and generic imo. AwesomeSauce Network seems like a really down to earth name. I really liked it.

I think a lot of people are disappointed because the old name really helped understand the general personality of the channel. It was real information without taking itself too seriously. And the Awesome Hardware live stream helped branding too I think.

I don't care for the name.

AwesomeSauce Network was fine. He(Kyle) felt it was too immature and sometimes he felt embarrassed by handing out a busines card with that name on it.  (Actual and Infered info from another of his video's)

Bitwit isn't something I care for personally.

In my business name, it has my grandpa's last name. Which is different from mine. People see the name on the truck and think it's my last name but it isn't. I've been asked why I haven't updated it to my last name and I just choose not too.

I can understand that point, but BitWit hardly sounds more mature imo. He could have easily changed it to something more professional and still recognizable. An example would be Awesome Hardware or Kyles Hardware or something.

True but then we'd be discussing why he copied Paul's name.

Ultimately it's his call, I've been watching his videos for a while now. It'll take some getting used too, but he'll still keep his fans. It's not like he says ASN through the whole video. So you'll end up hearing it once or twice in a 10-15 minute long video.

He made jokes that I felt were funny, and relevant unlike another tech tuber I've started to lose hope in.
