Not for me =/ only the DSR worked for the AA.

So I've gone through about 100 threads on Tom's Hardware, Endless thread on Nvidia forum and read through this whole thread in one sitting.

Same issue as all of you, one day just started getting Jaggies and" Raw" looking textures, as if Anisatropic Filtering is not being applied. 

NVCP or inspector do not work for me, heck, I believe even VSYNC options have no effect on games anymore since I cannot force it on some Unity titles.


I will add however that my issues started around the time I was playing around with ENBseries for Fallout 4. "Piligrim ENB Mode" to be precise. Couple of "infected" users have also mentioned doing some modding at the time of occurrence.  

The biggest problem driving me nuts is I used to be able to simply turn on FXAA from Nvidia and the game would get a nice blurry filter.

I downloaded MKX, the game that ONLY has FXAA as available AA and - The game looks same with FXAA on and off from both ingame settings and NVCP. Same for Antialiasign.

Some characters like Raiden (who have heavily textured outfits) look like a mess of pixels with no texture filtering whatsoever at 0 or 16 Anisa filter, no difference.

I was sure that my GPU got simply rendered incapable of producing AA and Anisa... but, I've tried Reshade with MK X and what do you know...

FXAA is actually working all of a sudden. Same for SMAA.

It sure looks like shit(mostly due to my lack knowledge of the FXAA values in reshade) but until now I couldn't even force it. 

So it's not card's Incapability to render those effects, it's likely Nvidia settings simply refusing to. 

Lack of Anisatropic filters is heavily noticeable in Just Cause 3 where grass and trees just make me puke when in motion.
What's funny is that I get shitty LOD not only on distant grass and whatnot as others have mentioned - My main characters get unfiltered textures aswelll.

Just Cause 3 - Rico's clothes have that "raw" look to them, as if they just loaded and are still waiting for that filter processing.
Arkham Knight - Batman's utility belt has swimming, cubical textures all over it.


I've tried using my old, pre-war UPS and have downclocked my video card, which I believe (I'm not even sure anymore, I can be going crazy for all I know) has helped with jaggies a Little bit in game Dead Space, which looked horrible during testing of this issue.

Overheating card somehow disabling basic AA and Anisatropy is not something out of the question if that's even possible.

Anyways, the year is 2018 and there is still no fucking fix for this damn issue plaguing us.

Hi. Guess What? Like all of you, I've been having my share of graphical issues with my build. This is my first gaming rig and I've only built it recently. What I don't understand is the FACT how the graphics suddenly turned all crappy/shitty one day when it was all buttery smooth when I first tested it. At first, I only noticed how the shadows turned into some pixelated, blocky minecraft shit. In some games, like Alan Wake The American Nightmare, the edges of the shadows of most, if not every static objects in the game, has some grainy, dotty looking shadows. In Sniper Elite 3, the shadows are worse. It's pexelated as shit even on ultra. Aside from the shadows, I also have issues of LOD not working as they're supposed to, like how objects only appear/render to high quality textures, when you're 10 steps close to them. It's annoying and immersion breaking. It happens in almost every game I have. Worst is with AC4. Not to mention anti aliasing not working in some. Plus the z-fighting, and shadow/light shimmering. I've tried playing with the in game settings, even in the nvidia controller, with no chance of success. I've reinstalled drivers like a million times, searched for solutions over the internet, only to result in dead ends. I'm really desperate for a fix. Gaming is my life. I've been gaming since I was 5 and never in my life something like this ever happened and it's making me really depressed. I'll do everything to see this through, so i'll help out in any way I can. I will send screenshots of my issues when I have time to spare since work has been hectic recently.

 

Atm, I'm gonna uninstall my dedicated gpu driver and try out the apu ryzen 3 2200g has and see if the problem persists since I haven't tried that yet.

There might be some good news. DLSS uses machine learning and should be able to fix this

I've been gaming since I was 5 and never in my life something like this ever happened and it's making me really depressed. I'll do everything to see this through, so i'll help out in any way I can. I will send screenshots of my issues when I have time to spare since work has been hectic recently.

 

Atm, I'm gonna uninstall my dedicated gpu driver and try out the apu ryzen 3 2200g has and see if the problem persists since I haven't tried that yet.

The same with me, I've lost hope, the way to sit and cry, Black Desert has improved graphics, and guess what? only made this problem worse in the game.

hello guys,now i have this FUCKING PROBLEM
first six months after buying a new computer, everything was perfect,literally a month ago rainbow six siege began to flicker texture and smoothing deteriorated by 50% approximately,but the game is tolerable,and when the camera shows the murder there is a complete clusterfuck,textures flicker so if I play the video card 2008 on the minimum settings.Dont know why is this whole game,the problem appeared absolutely randomly,only after it I started to try to put a different driver but all to no purpose,I put 2 days ago the pure win10,problem not solved.Today put GTA 5, and what I see-wild flicker textures, smoothing as if it does not work.Before it I passed 2 times this game and everything was fine, sometimes I just went into the game to show off the graphics,now it is impossible to watch,it's all blurry,textures appear right front of the nose,shadows progressivity when you go on their trail.I can't figure out what's wrong, it's clearly not my pc, because he's not even a year old.

I think maybe I discovered a way to improve this problem, when I put the resolution from 1920x1080 to 1920x1200, it improves a little, but the graphics gets half stretched, if I could find a more adequate proportion not leaving it stretched, will the problem improve?

The reason the image looked a bit better is because you increased the rendering resolution (slightly), which was then down-scaled to match your display resolution. The reason it looks squished is because it no longer matched the aspect ratio of your display.

 

Yes, you can try DSR/VSR which basically renders the image at a higher resolution and then down-scales it to the native display resolution. It's a different method to smooth out aliasing (stairs effect). In some games, using this with all AA turned off can actually allow the game to run better and look better vs running at native resolution with AA turned up high. 

 

It usually works fairly well if you stick with resolutions that scale well with the same aspect ratio (16:9). So for 1080p display, you can try 1440 or 4k DSR/VSR.

Depends on the game. Some forms of AA filtering can be extremely demanding, even more so than simply running at a higher resolution without AA. Do some experimenting and see how it looks and runs. 

 

I found 1440p to be a good balance of smoother image quality without sacrificing performance and just lowered the AA.

I was configuring and testing the resolutions of windows and I noticed that when the game is in 4k and windows tbm is set to 4k, the game gets the problem almost completely corrected, but if I set the windows to 1080p resolution and the game in 4k, the problem also appears in 4k, so maybe this problem is some importability with the resolution of windows with the games. The same happens when you configure the tool "Correct the scale for applications" windows, when the game is in 4k and windows in 4k and put in this tool 200% the problem appears even in 4k, maybe analyzing this can get you in some solution...

Is there any way to make normal computer graphics? I do not want to gaming, I just want youtube videos / moving things to be normal like it was before. Any filters or anything like that solves these pixels?

I think another beneficial test now would be to test the game on windows, macOS, and now Linux because steam came out with proton. It could narrow down the OS

I read the forum and I'm thinking about being something related to energy, as some people mentioned having new computers and from day to day the "virus" happens. As well as people who have the "virus" on televisions and cell phones connected in the electrical network. Would a good line filter solve the problem?

It's also been noted many times in this thread; "dirty power" cannot and will not affect how a PC renders graphics. The PSU and VRM for the CPU and GPU converts, filters and conditions the power before it reaches those components. 

 

The actual affect of bad power on a system; results in degraded performance or no performance at all (it simply shuts off), not a loss or degradation in visual quality. 

 

It cannot be a power-related issue, nor can it be spread through circuitry in a house.

@MEC-777 But from one day to the next when this problem occurred on my computer, it also occurred on the notebook, on the phone, and on the monitor. Which makes me think that it is an energy problem in my case and in the case of some. This is very strange.

I've read all of the post in this thread and also that one 137 page thread at Nvidia.

No one has any clue what is happening to our computers.

This issue goes back to 2006 and amd cards are also affected. 

There is no fucking fix for this. I'm gonna be a console peasant now so I don't have to worry about all this :(

I know I'm going to sound crazy mate, but the same thing has also happened on my console (Xbox One), textures in games look jagged/poor quality. I honestly don't know what's going on.

It also happens to me, and there are people who say that it is not an energy problem. I find it VERY improbable that this occurred on the same day, at the same time on various components connected to electricity for no reason whatsoever. Which leads me to believe that it is a problem related to electricity. (or something) It does not make sense to think that this only affects the computer when it clearly affects other distinct electronics.
