People have been doing Per Core Overclocking for some time now, how is that new?

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

Damn... Was hoping the 6800K would be about the same price as the 5820K, but it's like 50 dollars more expensive.

haha everyone who waited for the 6950X is going to get a big surprise xD

It was already well known that 6900k (aka 8 core SKU) would keep its price tag and the 6950X was rumored to go for $1500. So only a minor bump in the grand scheme of things.

$200 is quite a lot.

Indeed, but in that price range and if you're already willing to spend that much, you're probably buying it anyway.

Now if only we had an official release date :)

I'll be picking up that 6850K for sure when it drops.

Daaaayuum, one-thousand-and-sevenhundred for that?????

I call the pricing is totally bullshit because Intel can ask any price they want if AMD won't do any shit.

Damn, zen won't come soon enough.

What does the 6850k offer that the 6800k doesn't?

The $180~ price difference seems pretty high if the only difference in a 200mhz bump.

More PCIe lanes. Good if you want to do 3-way or 4-way SLI.

Is it not that useless now since GTX1080 with their new SLI tech? If you wanna use more than two GPU's,

you'll have to use the slower SLI.

That doesn't stop people wanting to do more than 2-way SLI, like Jaytwocents. Also don't forget AMD Crossfire.

And for a workstation for rendering and number crunching will benefit multiple cards set-up.

Yeah, I totally forgot about Crossfire. Wow, AMD is not that really good at markting as I seriously forgot about them.

Yeah, for workstation and rendering. But ain't the xeons for that kind of stuff?

And of course there is a group of people who'll just buy the 10core Intel because of gaming.

If Intel keeps these high prices, gamesdevs unlikely will optimise for 10 cores.

what do you mean? How the hell can you forget crossfire as a concept when you know SLI? oO Especially since AMD does it better.

Because AMD lacks markting/advertising
