Microsoft reveals some statistics using data from Windows 10 Users.

AlTech

1440015028808-635x357.jpg

If you were freaked out by MS collecting so much data about you well you have another thing coming. Literally! Since Microsoft collects more data than you realize.

And so they have analyzed data and found out these stats:

  • People spent more than 11 billion hours on Windows 10 in December 2015.
  • 44.5 billion minutes were spent in Microsoft Edge across Windows 10 devices in December 2015 (0.71 billion hours).
  • Users asked Cortana more than 2.5 billion questions since launch.
  • More than 82 billion photos were viewed in the Windows 10 Photo application. (eek!)
  • Windows 10 gamers spent over 4 billion hours playing PC games. (Seriously?)
  • Gamers have streamed more than 6.6 million hours of Xbox One games to Windows 10 PCs

HOLY FUCKING CHRIST MICROSOFT! WTF! This is unbelievably creepy! You're almost as bad as Google with Android! (Google is still worse with Android than MS is with Windows 10)

At least Google has the common sense and common courtesy not to tell us when they pull shit like this.

The informations listed is really just statistical data and is ok, now if they siad something like "we know how many people wore pants/skirts/nothing or who has X amount of email accounts and the passwords are kept safely or someother kind of personal shit they should not have THEN i would have a real issue.

A water-cooled mid-tier gaming PC.

Update: OP fixed the title. All is good!

--- Original post ---

Sensationalist title!

1- They don't brag about

2- That is called telemetry data, and that we know is what being collecting

3- Its not "more than previously thought"

Please fix title. Many people read the title and draw a conclusion, and not read your sarcastic news.

Edit:

I don't really give a crap if a program collects telemetry... but if it was metadata, decryption keys, or other identifiable info, then I'm against it...

Well I currently use mac OSX (dont kill me, I needed a laptop for school that I could run an audio workstation on), but use PCs for school and with friends all the time, and do prefer 8.

That being said, I'm getting a rig soon, dont worry

Websites have been collecting this sort of anonymous data for at least a decade now. 90+% of them do it at this point. Mostly using Google Analytics. If this worries you then you should probably stop using computers completely. Or at least disconnect them all from the internet.

None of it is personal information. Really a non-issue.

As soon as you touch the internet you give up any right to privacy, thinking that you have any measure of digital privacy these days is foolish. Either deal with it or disconnect cause if someone wants your info they're gonna get it.
