After Linus' 3.84 Tb SSD review this is weak.

Any unknown button should be pressed even number of times.

And it's cheap, because it's an HDD :P

Or I could just buy a 7mm drive and cable. Bam, world's thinnest drive 2.0.

Any 7mm HDDs with 2TB capacity?

Fair enough, I'll just harp on the shitty connector instead

Well if OP has 10 out of 10 drives die on him, it says a lot. If that's 10 out of 10 000, then I agree with you.

If OP has 10 out of 10 drives die on him that says something to me about the environment he puts the drives in or what he does with them. :P

Have a Seagate from 2007 that's still kickin, only now replacing it because I'm sure any drive that old is a ticking time bomb. Installed exclusively Seagate in friends and family members computers since 2007 and none have failed yet. Replaced two dead drives before, one WD, one Toshiba.

It's all luck of the draw really, no matter what company you go with.

Intel i7 6700k @ 4.8ghz, NZXT Kraken X61, ASUS Z170 Maximus VIII Hero, (2x8GB) Kingston DDR4 2400, 2x Sapphire Nitro Fury OC+, Thermaltake 1050W

I have 10 Seagate drives that includes portable drives and they're dead.

Even in my rig, there is still 2 more Seagate drives, they're on failure stage. Reallocated Sectors, Bad sectors.

I've like 3 WD portable drives which are 5-6 years old. And I've one WD Green 1TB on my rig. They're running super fine without any probs.

10 out of 14. Not all are my drives.

Some are my friend's. They gave it to me hoping I could repair that. But ended up being failed.

True, but every company has failing units. I also only have 1 WD drive (or well 2, 1 external, still working after 7-8 years), still works, but installed Seagate in the builds of others, still working after years.

Same amount of workload I put on WD and Toshiba drives that I have and it's going perfectly fine.

this actually genuinely interests me. but it doesn't even look thin. it looks like my backup plus is still as thin as that.
