Seagate launches World's Slimmest 2TB portable drive, only 9.6mm

I think the Seagate drive that's used here is a 7mm drive, it's the housing that makes up the other 2.6mm.

Just searching for "Seagate meme" in the Google Images, I see a lot of memes about Seagate drives. At the same time I searched for "Western Digital meme", and I see nothing.

Don't kill me.

Just saw your signature.

Yeah but memes exist about AMD heat too and it's not all that bad, but nvidia heat memes? Nope, even though GTX 480/780Ti etc. Memes say nothing.

Still using seagate 3tb drives in my nas with only 1 failure in 3+ years of running it 24/7.

Though once i do lose another drive i plan to start subbing them in with the actual nas drives (6tb or maybe 8 if they arent too expensive) now that they arent super expensive.

seagate 3tb drives did have a higher than average failure rate, and thats why they got a shit rap. but a lot of it was because they used those drives in shitty computers sold to people who didnt know better so everyone just assumes that all their drives suck. (That and all that bullshit with backblaze releasing those horrible statistics every year that everyone harps on)

I will say i have had more WD drives fail (% wise) than i have segates fail, but i still will always just buy the cheapest drive that does what i need. On the off chance something fails, thats why you back stuff up and have redundant storage if possible.
