Even though I'm no fan of TKL, this looks really clean. I want to get into custom keyboarding, but it looks so overwhelming.

Just buy a prebuilt.  Far cheaper than a full DIY build (especially if you're going to Warhammer 40k levels of DIY decorated keycaps).

True. Buy a prebuilt Model F.

Thanks for the suggestions, gents. I am doing research on the keyboards. I love full keyboards (Or 95%-ish) and I see its more or less frowned upon in the Keeb community. So finding something that I like and fits my needs is seeming like a daunting task. Was looking at the Keychron K4 since it was hot-swappable and works wirelessly. Also, the Tab 90 I believe the name was? Just so many possibilities and combinations, lol

Yes, 100% is not well supported in DIY flavor.  That's why my Ducky One 2 RGB Pudding Edition is "about as good as I'm gonna get".  Would I love a translucent case to go with it?  Would I love more RGB macro presets?  Would I love more keycap options?  Sure.  But for the price and what it did come with, I can't complain.

What's the best place to go to for custom coiled cables?

I'd probably just google "keyboard aviation cable".  Still think these are a gimmick for anyone other than reviewers/testers who are plugging/unplugging hundreds of times per day.

All three OEMs of IBM Model M13 buckling spring keyboards with TrackPoint or other pointing stick:

L-R:

  • Lexmark-made P/N 92G7461
  • Maxi Switch-made P/N 13H6705
  • Unicomp-made P/N 18P7970

This was at one point going to be the cover photo for an article I was working on comparing the three, but the article was scrapped before release due to a lack of interesting commentary. Instead, recycling the facts for my site's wiki in the future. Just found this otherwise cool photo whilst digging through my unused stuff.
