IMHO - Apple! WTF! I though you guys nailed it with A9 but then I hear about this and question if you even tried. Sorry Apple but this is complete stupidity

You're telling me something launched later than another product is going to be better than the older tech?

Wow surprising! Why exactly are you mad at Apple? They already made bank loot I doubt they care that a NEW product is going to outperform their current top dog.

With this intense graphics and chips race in the mobile arena, I can't wait to try this impressive and extensive list of worthy games on phones and tablets

lol.

I cringe every time I see someone "gaming" on their mobile device.

I found the problem.

according to some sources straight out of China, the Adreno 530 does manage to outperform the Apple A9’s GPU found on the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus.

It's freaking china, I wouldn't be surprised if this is their goverments way of trying to get apple out and their own shit sold.

May the light have your back and your ISO low.

Your chart says 530 is 40% over 430.

This chart says the A9 is 60% over the 430 (In the One M9). I dont see how a 40% increase is bigger than a 60% increase?

Well, #1 is always the best, but in Computer Science you count from 0 instead, so 40% is closer to 0 than 60%. Therefore the 530 is #0, and thus it's superior.

A newer product has higher speeds and lower power consumption than a current product already in production for about 2-3 months? And this surprises you because...

Heres what they dont say. Most android phones in 2016 will have either 1080p or 1440p screens. They need the power to drive those displays. Apple A9 only outperforms due to Metal, Software optimisation and the low res displays of the iPhone. When the 820 rolls around, i will be surprised if the GPU powering a large screen like most flagships can beat the 810 GPU-wise in the Z5 Compact since it only has a 720p screen and keeps up with the 6S/Plus

Current Rig:   CPU: AMD 1950X @4Ghz. Cooler: Enermax Liqtech TR4 360. Motherboard:Asus Zenith Extreme. RAM: 8GB Crucial DDR4 3666. GPU: Reference GTX 970  SSD: 250GB Samsung 970 EVO.  HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 2TB. Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro. PSU: Corsair RM1000X. OS: Windows 10 Pro UEFI mode  (installed on SSD)

Hardly. The HARDWARE in the iPhones is amazing. It's hardly software optimisations alone.

True, i belive it is optimisations, due to the raw number crunching power of the GPUs on Android is higher. The 6S GPU is around 300 GFLOPS, and the Adreno 430 is 400 GFLOPS approx

umm the benchmark i linked is offscreen. The "lowres" doesnt matter. And wow, apple has great software/API/driver stack for its GPU, guess that makes it unfair on android based phones right? Wrong.

So many people don't understand this...they literally think OS level optimisations are the reason that iPhones perform so well.

There is more to a GPU than just FLOPS. I'm not even sure those numbers are accurate.
