Just curious if im the only person who still likes to buy physical copies of games.

 

I thought about how most of the games i own are digital, yet i still rather purchase a physical copy instead.

Sometimes. If there's a collector's/special edition where I like the stuff it comes with.

I mostly play free stuff but if I were to buy a game I'd prefer a physical copy if it didn't cost significantly more.

If there is a game i really think i want to keep for a long time then i get a physical copy.

And i like all the extras that are included in some physical game cases

I get physical copies, my download will take forever to download a game. And when it's done downloading, I loose interest on playing it.

Well depends on the size of the game. If over around 15gb or more i'll get hard copy, for instance GTA 5.

Bought GTA V cause if I downloaded it rip my 300gb cap. 8 discs and about 2 hours of install later, it works. Rockstar game patch is so bad, kept cutting out on me and wouldnt let me download the last 2 mb of the 5gb file... Had to pop on a vpn just to download the last 2mb.

physical copy because most of the time its cheaper then buying it on steam.

Because some games do those epic looking tin cases and collectors editions sometimes look really cool 

like how intel did the 5960x and 6700k a while back. I love it when companies do those kinds of things

they make it fun and exciting that you just bought a game. 

That and collectors editions make you feel special because they look so good.

I love physical media because it makes me feel like the 40-60 bucks im spending is justified in this piece of plastic. That way i can look at the 8 games i have for PS4 and feel like i have alot of games compared to 137 on my steam library where i only play 2 games and i feel like shit regardless afterwards from looking at the long list and thinking about how i just cant fathom the feel of playing all those games. 

Space Journal #1: So Apparently i  was dropped on the moon like i'm a mars rover, in a matter of hours i have found the transformers on the dark side of the moon. Turns out its not that dark since dem robots are filled with lights, i waved hi to the Russians on the space station, turns out all those stories about space finding humans instead of the other way around is true(soviet Russia joke). They threw me some Heineken beer and I've been sitting staring at the people of this forum and earth since.

I like a disks for a few reasons:

No stupid download time required to get the game chewing up my internet connection often preventing me from doing all else.
Its external storage, so no backing up to HDD to prevent afore mentioned pain in ass download.

Technically, worse case scenario, still have a game if said companies and hosts go bust.


 

Its not my fault I am grumpy, you try having a porcelain todger that's always hard!

Well, not the first time its actually happened a company going bust leaving clients without.

If its not games its music, video, or software.

Admittedly I stopped fairly recently. Civilization Beyond Earth will probably be my last physical game purchase unless something on the landscape changes again.

 

I'm blessed with really good internet so digital is just... better now... And often a little cheaper.
