Post your future rig plans!

Right I've decided, I'm getting a flagship Greenland GPU because the performance boost I'll be getting over my R9 290X will probably outweigh an 8-core Zen over my FX-9590.

After that a Zen+ probably.

Short term -hopefully this year or start of next year:

8gbs DDR3 and  a 700Watt+ PSU to get a board with a quad core FX chip running to replace my ageing (read: 12 years old) xeons

mid term:

another HD 5770 and a 16x to 2 x 8x pci-e riser so I can Xfire it with my current 5770 on a board with only 1 16x slot

another HDD

a 1080P monitor

Long term: (or; never happening)

my fanless sub-zero build that I have been planning for a while

turning a dell m-atx case into a e-atx case.

My current system:

Asus P8P67 Pro Rev 3.1

i5 2500k @4.5 Ghz

Gigabyte R9 280x

16 GB RAM

250 GB 850 evo / 1 TB Caviar Black / 2 TB Caviar Green

Samsung SyncMaster 2693HM - 25.5" / 1920x1200

My present upgrade plan: Get a mid-tier Nvidia Pascal GFX card next year. I think that's all that'd be needed to continue getting max gaming performance on this PC @1920x1200.

But if I were to build a new PC, it'd have 32 GB RAM, and an i7 CPU.

I eventually plan on getting an i7-5820K, GTX 980 Ti, 32GB of DDR4 RAM and a 128GB SSD + 1TB hard drive. I do have a very specific reason for getting a system as powerful as this and that's because I plan on getting into rendering. Not for bragging rights like some people, but because I actually need that power.

I have no signature. There is nothing to see here. Move along.

Short term

I'm about to order the thermal take v21 case. I Love that look!!

Maybe getting costume extensions because I hate the mustard yellow...

Mid term

Get another 8gb ram stick.

get a new cooler. The stuck Intel cooler is way way too loud. Probably a hyper 212 EVO.

Long term

Replace my crappy monitor for a nice 1080p ips 23 or 24"

Get a new video and as I am not satisfied with a gtx 760 on 900p (something like a 290-390 used or maybe if there is something to my liking.)

Get a new modular psu woth costume sleeved cables.

Intel core I5 4460, Gigabyte H97M-HD3, Gigabyte gtx 760, 8 GB corsair value ram, Thermaltake core v21, Thermaltake Smart 630W PSU

Alcatel OneTouch D5... IT WORKS!!

Medium term:

Kingston hyperX Clouds or some other decent headset, these kraken pros are killing me

Long term:

Intel i5. The dated FX6350 wont last long..

New mobo, no idea which one but necessary with the CPU im getting.

4 or 8 Gigs of ram, im fine with the 8 Gigs i have now but a bit more breathing space would be nice.

144hz monitor, theyre pretty expensive and i have other stuff to upgrade too so it might take quite a while before i buy a new monitor. Propably BenQ.

I'm pretty set with my current rig. Don't have the itch to upgrade yet.

Next rig

CPU: i7 9xxxK series

GPU: Nividia GTX x70 or whatever their numbering scheme turns into.

Mobo: Not a top tier board, but something which will alloy moderate overclocking.

Storage: SSDs for sure  + a WD Red Drive. Maybe PCIe if it gets cheaper.

Case: Something black and incognito, my phantom 410 is wayyy too flashy.

Cooling: AIO watercooling for both CPU and GPU.

Audio: Happy with my HE-400s and speakers. but a new DAC+AMP stack would be nice.

CPU: AMD 3950x Mobo: MSI B550 RAM: 32GB DDR4 GPU: Asus 3080 Strix PSU: Superflower Leadex 3 720w Case: BeQuiet 500DX

Storage: 2TB SSD + 4TB HDD Audio: SMSL 793ii -> HiFiman HE-400 + Mission MS-50 Speakers
