What would you upgrade?

I feel like I haven't made any upgrades in a while, maybe except for the vide card.

This build runs most games just fine, but it doesn't feel super snappy no more.

What would you upgrade?

  • Motherboard: ROG Maximus XI Hero
  • CPU: Intel Core i9 9900k
  • Video Card: RTX 3070 Ti 8GB
  • RAM: 32 GB DDR4

I was going to say graphics card can hold you back in higher resolution/newer games. If your computer doesnt feel snappy, try reinstalling your operating system first.

I would start with the GPU.

My 9900k still has life in it with a 3080ti and a few months ago a popped in my 4090 to see how it fared. I can report the 9900k won't hold you back as long as you keep the resolution to 1440p or 4k. You'll find the CPU will start to botteneck at 1080p.

That being said, my 1% and 0.1% lows did suffer a bit.

As @Levent said, a fresh install of Windows is always a good idea to clean out anything that's perhaps making your system feel a little sluggish.
