No Internet on Wifi

The problem also persist if I set my phone to random address btw.

Depends on what exactly you mean by random, but yeah that's typically not going to work.

If your router's IP is, for example, 192.168.1.1 and the netmask is 255.255.255.0, then your phone will need an IP in the range 192.168.1.x

Its gateway should be set to the IP of the router and DNS could be an IP provided by your ISP, but you can also use Google (8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4) or e.g. 1.1.1.1 or 9.9.9.9

Ideally all of that should be set by the DHCP

This is the second time it happened (At least to my knowing), the first time was around a month ago.

As title said, I can connect to my wifi network but there's no internet.

Devices using ethernet cable works fine.

The first time it happened I couldn't do shit about it, and after like an hour or so the problem suddenly gone.

Tried restarting router and all it's subsequent APs.

The setup is : ModemRouter Combo -> Asus router -> 2x Asus Router

One of the AP is using ethernet backhaul. The other one uses wireless.

What could be the possible cause for this ?

Is this on multiple WiFi client devices?

Do you have the WiFi network in a separate address space from the wired network?

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

Are you able to lookup DNS? (cmd > nslookup google.com) if so do a traceroute with a device that cant access to internet (tracert google.com)

Did the machine get an IP, DNS server and gateway set by the DHCP server?

Sounds like the router/DHCP might not be working properly. How many clients are on the network?

I don't really understand what you mean separate address space, sorry I'm not really good with networking terms @_@

Tracerouting using Pingtools on my phone result in DNS error.

Unknown Host google.com

IP yes, i set an IP address for each of my devices in my router DHCP settings.

The problem also persist if I set my phone to random address btw.

ModemRouter Combo through ethernet to main Asus router

AP #1 through ethernet to main router

AP #2 through wireless mesh, bound connection to AP#1

Laptop through ethernet to main router -working fine, as I am typing this on laptop

Desktop through ethernet to main router -currently turned off

3x phones through wifi mesh -all connected without internet access

Are you able to see what IP address the router gave you?

Are you using a separate DHCP server?

By random i mean not binding its mac  address to specific IP. And yes its in the range

I just used it last night. I slept then this problem occurs after i woke up

this isnt a new setup or anything like that

Sorry for the mass tagging :

@Levent @Needfuldoer @podkall @Eigenvektor

New update :

For devices using wireless connection :

If I turn on my Mullvad VPN on my phone, it has internet over Wifi

For the devices using ethernet :

Laptop & Desktop  :  No internet if I turn off Mullvad, has internet if Mullvad is on.

I'm dead curious now as to how / why / what is happening.

Make sure your client devices don't have a hard-set DNS server. That should be managed by DHCP, and in the vast majority of cases the DNS server is going to be your router's IP address.

They don't, auto on devices.

Though on the router side I used google DNS.

Tried changing it to cloudflare's still havin problem.

Seems changing it only to auto get from ISP made everything normal @_@

Is it something wrong happening with google / cloudflare's dns, or my ISP blocking their dns or something ?
