Well there isn't any other Z170 board that i liked, and the Z170X G1 Gaming is overpriced.

This motherboard has been super tempting me:

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/msi-z170a-xpower-gaming-titanium-edition-intel-z170-socket-1151-ddr4-atx-motherboard-mb-310-ms.html

But I need at least a 5820k for a CPU upgrade, and would also like 14 nm, so I'd be waiting for broadwell at least.

I hope MSI will make an X99 xpower titanium board, also it would need the same slots, 4 x long PCI-E with 2 slots for each since I already bought a 3 way rog SLI connector to fit that spacing.

Linus is my fetish.

I recently upgraded my GPU, so everything else is the next step.

A somewhat high-end i7, a corsair i-series psu, a somewhat high-end mobo, 16GB ddr4 and a nice case.

Do not feed.

Replacing my overclocked G3258 (dualcore) by a 2nd hand xeon 12++ cpu with atleast 4 cores & hyperthreading, which both by have similar poweroutput. The upgrade possibility between these cpu's was the reason why i bought a g3258 in 2015 in the first place.

Reading more into CPUs, it seems 10 nm Cannonlake is due next year, so I'd rather wait for that.

Absolutely nothing short term, other than sleeved cables maybe.

BUT, LONG TERM:

Mod the heck out of my S340, maybe scrap another S340 and use the metal from that to build two "radiator holder" extensions on the bottom and top of the case (a similar look to CaseLabs) and then drill two holes in the top/bottom of the case for tubing to run through. Then, I'll mount some radiators on those radiator holders and have a pretty sick water-cooling set up in my S340.
