i really want one but i doubt i could get the auction won at like 250$ since i cant afford more than that atm

idk ... i was more worried when i realized the the TDU2 unofficial patch site was down ... had to google for a few hours to actually find it without some added shitty car mods

So my G27 is no longer working properly. It was working fine on my other gaming PC a couple months ago, but isn't working right on my new setup. 

 

It won't register wheel movement properly and when I pull the paddle shifters it kicks the ffb motors and spazzes out. I have tried every port on the PC, (USB2 and 3 ports) and all the "driver tricks" I know of that used to work (manually updating the drivers in device manager to "USB input device". Nothing works. 

 

In Project cars 2 it will not calibrate or recognize any wheel inputs or pedal inputs, but it does recognize that it's a G27. When it does recognize inputs from the wheel, the scaling is all wrong and it only allows the wheel to move 180 degrees max (90 degrees left/right). I have searched for solutions but nothing works. 

 

The league is starting up the next season near the end of the month, so hoping I can get this fixed by then. If anyone has any ideas, please share. I'm at a loss and super frustrated. Can't afford a new wheel right now.  

 

My old DFGT is lurking in a box in the basement as an absolute last resort... lol

Seems odd if the hardware is relatively ok. In the past I just went through drivers a few times when the calibration wasn't right but for this I have no clue, sorry!

Haven't tried it in another game yet, no. That's also next on the list.

Grab someone's laptop and see how it works on another PC. At least that way you'll know if its your PC or the G27

I only drag it out every now and then, but I've been on the fence about upgrading too. But with having recently broken my camera I dont think I'll be buying any new hardware either lol so idk.

 

I'm not sure if you would want mine with all the accessories atm. Wheelstand pro, DSD pedals, DSD button plate and a wheel hub.

Seems like an encoder could be an issue? Or maybe check the gear set and the limit stops.

 

Or just wait a couple of days for it to magically self correct

Pulled the wheel apart and found most of the screws had loosened off on the gear set housing.  There was a bit of play, but I had no idea it was that bad...

Got everything back together and well... it still doesn't work properly. Even on another PC. 

 

So I guess that's it. About 5 years of pretty hard use has taken it's toll. Time to dig out the DFGT that's as old as my PS2 and see if that still works.
