Box Box Box - Sim Racing Players Club [Now Hype Train Enabled!]

So the 12 hour was great but we ended up doing Spa instead of the ring as for two relatively new people it was just to much and man do we all have a ton to learn. But they both super keen for another one.

But onto bigger and better. Construction has begun on my sim rig, got a fair bit done, but need to order some parts for the steering mounting I want to do also, need to get some Arduino boards to get the Dash gauges up and running and a handbrake also will be able to wire up the switch boxes and all that stuff.

This was a fun but frustrating race in many respects... insane amount of traffic as Monza is a fast circuit and the race was split pretty evenly between 3 classes. Some of the GTLM's could have helped me out a bit better but oh well.

Don't worry, the in the best of hands, Its my second time doing the invert Logitech mount. Find the pedals become way nicer invert mounted. But also going to be ordering one of those kits that improve the feel. Goign to be using the G25 for a while, Will be replacing the Shifter soon though.

So i played and Streamed Assetto Corsa for the first time since new years tonight, took the 2004 Renault F1 car around Monaco for a few laps, got down to a 1.20.2 on full tanks and no setup, but bugger me did it destroy my wrists.

I'll have another bash tomorrow, i reckon i  can get that time down to 1.16/7 with a bit of practice, maybe even 1.14 if i turn the track temp down to 0.

Also i tried out the 2008 Mclaren Mod too, high speed corners in that thing i could barely turn the wheel, the steering got that heavy, Fun car to drive though.

The MP4-13 is one of my favourite mods! Such a brute to hussle, but I haven't given it a go in a while. Really liked the Formula 3 car from a while back too, and I think the Formula Renault was great as well but no idea when these got updated. With the latest batch of cars in the Red Packs the game is pretty spoiled for choice!

I still love my sportscars though. Currently exploring the 812SF in assetto but still find myself going back to the gt3 cup. Also the GT3RS in project cars 2 for the playfulness and sound.

The powersteering has been out completely on my car the past week so I'm starting to feel it in my shoulders and wrists lol.

Pre 2000s cars are always a treat to see in person too, btw.

Are you using gloves, i very highly suggest using gloves. Doesnt even have to be dedicated driving gloves.

I personally use these

They love as general gloves and for driving, drivng for a long time is much easier with them.

I wasn't using Gloves, but i do have some, it was the tight turns of Monaco and not being used to the force feedback that did me.

It's the first time i have had my wrists hurt like that, i used to play for 6 or 7 at a time without issue, probably because i haven't used the wheel in 5 months and it being Monaco....I know some people hate Monaco, but to me its still the most fun and intense track to drive fast and hard on.

Funny enough when we did that 12H sim none of the guys complained about sore wrists, and two of the guys ain't exactly used to sim racing at all, but that was on a G27 so not like the greatest force feedback around. But will be interesting once I change it to my OMP 320mm Racing wheel I use in time attack since the season is over, so the car is just sitting around.

heard bigger wheels reduce the feedback strength

Our league did a season in the Indy cars a year or so back. That was one of the tracks we raced on. ;)

I was using the roof cam for this track, just so I could see a little better.

Going to building my own with some 3mm or 1mm Steel I have, Sorts out the buttons as well as the Adapter plate in one go.

It's pretty easy and lets me put things where I want them.

So far I really like it. It builds on a lot of the stuff the crew 1 did well. Lots of customization and decent story line. The cars dont drift very easily and are very grippy but overall drives better than NFS payback.

I'll have to give it a go, Hopefully breaking the welder out this weekend and going to finish the new sim stand.

I would be keen for some NFS for some story line fun.
