Hitachi develops software to help people make up their minds

jos

Hitachi’s English-language artificial intelligence program can assist people in making up their minds by disclosing the pros and cons of situations presented to it.

prototype was asked whether the ban on casinos should be lifted in Japan.

The program first establishes the theme of the question asked and then gathers related articles. It then locates passages describing reasons and grounds for and against the casino industry and compiles and reads texts on both positions.

The program can be applied to many fields as more data become available in various fields, according to Hitachi.

For example, the AI program could perform a similar task in assisting doctors on deciding whether to proceed with surgery if electronic data on patients and relevant research literature are presented.

In other applications, managers in the manufacturing sector who cannot decide whether to have old parts replaced can have the software make suggestions based on information on the parts gained by a scan of sensors and the results of routine checks in the past.

But making the final decision for users is not what the program is designed for.  “That is still the individual’s job,”

Now we need to insert fake articles,,,,and gone ...I think it make decision more difficult ...

Eh?  I remember writing (OK much less sophisticatedand/powerful) programs (in BASIC   ) to eliminate decision making, back in the early 80s.

This was just a coursework(homework) assignment, NOT a term long project or anything like that

That would probably result in significantly better critters and parrots than what we currently get. So I for one welcome our AI overlords.
