Over 100°c club!

Have you ever gone over 100oc and what with and if you know why then how did it happen?

 

As for me I had a (now dead) phenom X4 965 and the cpu fan died i think, well it stopped. I was playing Age of War at the time when i happened to look at the cpu meter on my desktop and noticed the temp reading was at 104oc. I had a mini heart attack and yanked the power cable out. There was also a lingering burning smell but the cpu was fine. I think its performance started to go downhill afterthat moment sadly.

The T9600 in my Dell Latitude E6500 hit a 100C (had to de-dust it). Still works perfertly fine at the moment (that's Dell quality for ya :D ).

If it were really that temperature, you would be well past dead. The human body can take about 120 degrees F before dying.

I haven't had any of my components actually go over 100°C, but one time I had HWMonitor glitch and say that the IGPU in my laptop was at 511°C..

120°F is around 50°C which is a lot but doesnt kill you. However 100°C pretty much melts you as it is the temperature of water starting to boil.

my gpu running at 850mhz hit 102c while playing blood dragon. I dropped my oc by 50mhz and now it runs much cooler

My older HP Pavillion reached 100C, i thought about making eggs on it someday, but it would end up being a mess! ^^

old athlon xp ... it would regularly hit 100 and shut off  eventually when i got a better cooler it would operate at around 85 to 88 and it did that for about 5 years and then the motherboard died

My laptop had a nasty drop a year ago and since then the cpu fan only worked when it wanted

As a result of the moody cpu fan my laptop used to hit way over 100ºC on a regular basis

All that heat resulted in some damages and the one that killed it was burning the screen backlight

my old laptop's t6600 was hitting 100 any time i do moderate 3d stuff ;gaming etc (and tjmax is 90 according to intel) and my current 3570k going to hit 100 with my current overclock in 2-3 months (tim on core die is probably worse than mustard now)
