I am on mobile, but out best buy has 390 and 390x on shelves for 450!!!

i call bullshit, picture or it did not happen

the 390x is really sad
barely any improvement over the 290x

IMO the only new AMD card worth buying is the Fury, which actually competes with the 980ti

Put your username by it or a thumbs side ways otherwise its fake. Probably not actually but you never know. Get one benchmark it and post the benchmarks early

$450? It's literally a rebrand of a 290X which you can grab for $269 o.0

 

How the hell does this expect to compete with the 970?

 

 

As someone who owned a 290x and a 2 970's, the 290x already competes with it.

 

Adding a 1000 mhz memory overclock, as well as a bit on the core + 4gb extra VRAM is a nice touch and should make it beat the 970 in most games.   BUT, for $450 it's not a very good price.

I know they perform similarly -- my comment was about one being 1.5 times the price of the other. The overclock doesn't even improve it as most people would be overclocking the 970 anyway -- it doesn't seem that uncommon to break 1500 MHz

 

The extra vram will do nothing. There are already 8GB 290Xs (that are cheaper than this, btw) but even at 4K 4GB is plenty. 6-12GB vram will start to come into its own when the GPU along side it is powerful enough (with SLI/CF) to handle 4K surround/eyefinity. Until then the 970 and 290X have plenty of vram.

It should be like 300$. And then make Fury 500$-ish.

Ok guys, didn't have the money so didn't buy, they're coming out soon anyway... Sorry, the pics are legit though and I crapped a brick, almost asked an associate if they were supposed to b out but decided not to ruin it for the other techies that would have a heart attack over it. If this card is one cent over the price of the 290X right now then the rebrand is simply a means of duping and ripping off customers. If you change the name of something and suddenly it costs $180 more then it's a rip off.

It's a launch price. The 290x was also priced at $550 when it launched. The price will fall over time. That's how graphics cards always are when they're released.

 

And having extra VRAM sounds terrible. Why would they put that on? I don't want VRAM! That stuff sucks. Who would want VRAM? I mean, really? God, 512mb master race over here.
