It would probably be OK, though I don't think the Assassin Spirit is cheaper enough to justify its worse cooling performance. As for blocking the RAM sticks, worst case scenario you could just raise the fan mount on the cooler, it's not that big a deal.

Budget (including currency): EUR 1100 some wiggle room is fine as shipping price will also need to be added.

Country: Ireland

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: CS2, COD, Cyberpunk, RDR2, Marvel's Spiderman

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Existing parts: Dell U2424HE monitor, Logitech G102 light sync, Dell office keyboard.
Did some research and this is my parts list:

Please let me know if there are any changes I should make or compatibility issues that I might not be aware of. The only doubt that I have is the RAM not being in the QVL of the Mobo.

Pretty solid. Could save 10eur with a cheaper single 120/140mm fan cause CPU runs so cool and not sure what that random white fan is there for and I'd get that case with a glass side panel to show off the interior.

Overall its a pretty good system. There's only a couple small things I'd change, like change the cooler to the RGB version as its slightly cheaper (you can just leave it unplugged if you don't want RGB), and you can go for a 6000 CL32 memory kit instead of CL30 as the performance is effectively identical and save you another $5. I would also try to go for a 2TB SSD if you can extend the budget slightly as 1TB would get pretty quickly filled up by the games you mentioned.

I wouldn't really be concerned about that. The QVL is largely overrated IMO as it is far from exhaustive (meaning they only test a small portion of memory kits that exist) and they test with the top 1% of CPUs that exist, so there's quite a few memory kits on the QVL that have no shot of working on the majority of CPUs. The main thing to know if you want to know if a kit will work on there is if the PCB is has some optimizations (there are other Corsair kits on the QVL, so it does, and if you go for that Lexar kit it should just use a generic PCB that will be optimized for first) and if the memory IC has optimizations (6000 CL30/32 is SK Hynix based, which on DDR5 has the most optimizations and therefore is the best). Given that, the odds of either kit not working are very small.

This was the cheapest available on Amazon de which delivered to Ireland. There were so many components that I could have gotten but can't because of delivery. But thanks for the tip.

I will check with the cooler, if the one you've specified is available for delivery to Ireland. Also I was wondering if I could save a bit more with the assassin spirit 120? There is also the the uncertainty of the peerless assassin blocking the RAM sticks.

The CL32 kit is a nice suggestion, I'll check if its available.

I did consider the 2TB drives but they are pretty expensive here. I'll check once again though.

The Corsair kit was the only CL30 one that was available for delivery.

Thanks for your suggestions, I'll check if its possible to implement your suggestions.

I would have loved to use a 6800XT but the only one delivering to my address on Amazon is €850. There is a reference 6950XT for €580. I can see an Acer 7800XT for €510 and it's been suggested to try to get that one.

7800xt is fine for that price

6950xt is abit too pricey when the 7900gre exists

The PA120 won't block your RAM sticks, it doesn't block at all my GSKill Trident sticks and the Corsair Vengeance sticks are lower 2024-05-1120_57_46.thumb.jpg.b436f2cf865ae8536af4838336a5f848.jpg

That looks sick AF. Shame white PC components so expensive.

Thanks !

Well the case (P600S) was expensive to begin with, but the white version wasn't really more

The PSU was a bit more expensive tho, but was a slightly superior version and has been discontinued I think (replaced with Shift version), a shame as it is really good and dead silent...

Then the white PA120 wasn't more expensive and was the only one available, the Arctic P14S (top) and TR CLCW12 or something (front RGB) weren't neither

Unfortunately had to get black Arctic P12s Max (on the cooler) as the white version didn't exist at launch, and black BQ SW3 Pro rear, as BQ don't do anything white 😞

Couldn't find a good white board, the X670E Asrock Taichi Carrara was so overpriced at 600EUR vs 430 for the Asus Strix E-E I got that has same or better features (except no 20GB USB but I don't care)
