Maybe they'll use their CPU's to showcase Dx12. If they show that a game that's relatively (or really is) CPU intensive can run on high/ultra on their weaker CPU, that'll do wonders.

What I meant was the way it gets announced/launched. The Titan X was launched out of nowhere during one of Unreal's Talks at this years' GDC. And the way it happened was golden to.

Well if they launch it at Computex 2015 there will initially be massive amounts of publicity as long as they showcase it properly (not just a card sitting on a stand with a spec sheet) to draw people in to do coverage on the product. Then a few weeks later during E3 as some of the biggest game developers take the stage I imagine some will showcase upcoming game titles which would be a smart move for the game demos to be demonstrated running on the R9 390X. Then about a month after E3 we also have HotChips 2015 which will also feature a discussion about Fiji. So if done right there's just insane amounts of publicity that AMD can capitalize on for their new products. All in all this is good news for AMD to have so many advertising opportunities (which is why I imagine that they are doing it) to help them market their products. This is something Nvidia does well that AMD needs to grasp upon and ever since Lisa Su took over AMD has been making a big turn for the better.

thats part of the reason why amd is loosing. they spend so little in marketing that even when they make better products than nvidia nvidia still comes out on top. and remember the pentium athlon thing. the athlon is clearly better than the intel pentium and yet intel won majorly with marketing

You don't know what either budgets are.

If Hollywood's taught us anything, It's that you can sell anything with the proper type and amount of marketing. And that even the best product/movie can fail without proper marketing.

As things stands now, AMD might release a king of the hill gfx in a few months, and a killer CPU architecture next year. I'd reckon they are doing a good job of making new core products.

AMD is just listed as a sponsor along with the others (but we both know why OP made this post ;] ). I'm more so iffy about Twitch (for various reasons) and Bohemia being sponsors.

 

Maybe Twitch will finally announce that they'll enforce their own TOS and Bohemia will announce a game that doesn't run like ass.

Good move from AMD, even if "NVidia" would have "done it better", getting AMD out there and advertising the fact they're still very much a company, completely dedicated to gamers, pc enthusiasts, and technology as a whole, is great.

 

NVidia and Intel are so huge because of monopolistic practices and advertising, AMD has been "for the people, by the people" since its creation.

 

This is a good thing, not just for AMD, but for Intel and Nvidia as well.
