People are like....

See a system with a i7-5960x and a Titan X but wait.... 16 gb of RAM...

Next to that is a FX9590 with a gt610 and.... 32gb of RAM...

O my the second one is surely better cuz... IT HAS MOAR RAM AND HIGEHR NUMBERS!

There is no such thing as sata 1,2, or 3 cables, all the changes have been on the controllers and not the cables themselves.

Ya, actually there are cable that doesn't support sata 3 transfer speed.

He won't accept an i3. Says they're too slow so I say get an i5. He barely ever uses the touchscreen so it was pointless to get. In fact, the device has a terrible touchpad. Like 2 inches from top to bottom and like 4 across. Just a miserable experience I'm pretty sure.

Why not put an SSD in there and tell him it's an i5? Just hope he doesn't open photoshop or something of the like. No one's going to know...

Someone on the internet bought a usb flash drive on ebay. When he plugged it into his computer it did not detect anything at all. He opened it up and guess what? He saw this right in front of his eyes.

Well, I've just been defeated. Anyone else got any bright ideas? (maybe teach him about SSDs and which processors are used for what?)

He's too hard headed. My boss (family) got fed up with him as a client (tech support) a few years back. :P

It's like saying a iMac is better than Dual Xeon 2699v3 system with 4 Quadros.... Becuase it's "not from apple"

EDIT: The Xeon's name is wrong, I think, I'm reffering my self to the 18 core, 36 threads one

You win, I got nothing. After recent research it's all about same speed. So the transfer speed as introduced are "gimmicks" by the looks of it.

I'm guessing that it's similar to the differences between Cat5, Cat5E and Cat6 cables... There are specs on wire gauge, shielding, etc...

I'm not entirely sure though...

cat5 and 6 are actually different cables connectors, usb 3 is a different cable and connector than usb 2, but is reverse compatible and as of now sata connection is the same across the board like pci-e, although pci-e 4 is supposedly changing things

I have to reboot it everyday because my PC's RAM usage just kept climbing and climbing and after 2 days, it used up nearly 90% of my PC's 16GB of RAM, and I couldn't find what was causing it.

My PC has been on for 8 days 7 hours and 9 minutes and it hasn't slowed down, if my ram goes up I just log out and log back in, it works every time.

????

A Cat6 cable terminated by a standard RJ45 plug (with the T568A or T568B pin assignments on both ends) functions the same as a Cat5E and Cat5... the only difference is in the supported speed and the durability of the cable (Cat6 is shielded as opposed to Cat5)...

I worked with all of them before...

SATA is the same, but I'm just speculating on the specs of the cable that may or may not allow the 6Gbps on SATA III...
