I Have a confession to make , I am not that much ''Tech savvy '' person , and when i say that , I dont mean in a sense where i dont know PC building and audio and other general things , I do know the general things of a PC and i know audio part of tech as well but i will admit this , I am not expreranced with everything that is related to technology , just like any other person , i have my limits. Sure, I do know technology in my own little special way but the cons of being a tech savvy guy is that a non tech savvy guy or gal , might think that you know EVERYTHING THAT IS TO KNOW ABOUT TEHCNOLOGY , LITERALLY EVERYTHING , EVERY, SINGLE THING , They think that you can just about solve anything that is tech relatead , heck they think you can hack google if you want to.

I got to know this feeling when i treid to fix my sisters mac , See i am not a mac person nor have i used a mac that much so i dont know that much about macs , But it doesnt hurt to give ita shot becasue she asked nicely . Her mac book was throtling from eather the HDD ( i dont know if the mac had an HDD becasue if i tried to open the mac , my sis would have a heart attack ) Or it was the small fans throtling . The mac was acting like this when she tried to upload a cluster sum of photos to the mac . I swear to the life in me that some times , non tech savvy people can not wait a minute , they want it fixed RIGHT RIGHT NOW NOW . i swear they did not give me even 5 min to look at the mac .

Now to be perfectly clear , my dad fixed the mac because he used a mac himself .

After all was said and done , guess what she says when she comes up to me , '' You know nothing about technology ''

I was like : 'BU-...BUT BUT....YOU...Did no-.. 0_0.... -_- ''

At this point i stormed off becasue i knew she was a loss casue and just because i could not fix her piece of shit mac witch BTW she did not let me take a good look , i was deemed as a person who knows nothing about tech. How lovely.

Thats my little adventure . Question ; How much do you know about technology and what part of technology that you have no experiance and have you taken a crack at it ?

Thanks guys and stay groovie :D.

I have very little experience with working with phones... I haven't had the time to learn...

I guess the expectation of your 'client' was in the realm of "tech wizardry" wherein you just glance, know everything wrong with the device, then cast a little magic spell, and all will be well...

You should've explained that the user is the problem... (I use this move if I am insulted by the client)

If all they want to know is (4 - 1)*85*35, why even bring "tech" into the question?

My thoughts exactly, (see my reply umpty posts back).

Maybe it was a 'make weight' question that even the most tech illeterateunderperforming should be able to get.

Perhaps it was because it was in the Maths (do Canadians use the 's' I know USAians dont whilst Brits do so what about Canadians) section of a tech "quiz" they decided to use a tech scenario but the actual question could have been about anything.

or perhaps...

A few pages back I posted about how no one cracked their chromebook screen yet, well today was the end of that. One of the girls in my class had her chromebook fall off of her desk and the screen is either cracked or not working anymore. RIP Chromebook #1, 11-17-15.

Our school has had 20+ chromebooks meet their untimely demise and only the freshmen have them. It's a good thing they have accidental damage coverage for 3 years.

I've built 3 PC's, but none for myself... In fact, I'm using an iMac that my dad bought for me as my desktop. Awkward...

Please don't say "SSD drive." By doing so, you are literally saying "Solid State Drive Drive" and causing my brain cells to commit suicide. The same applies to HDD (Hard Disk Drive) and PCIe (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express).

How did she make it fall off the table? Doesn't the Chromebook have rubber feet or something?

no, we don't use the "s" either.

Yes, brilliant example :P  It is an incredibly basic math problem that brings in tech terms for absolutely no reason whatsoever

press like to pay respects

Just a guy who peaked at building back in the days of the GTX 980. If you see me here, assume i have technical knowledge akin to a committed hobbyist builder back then. If something's changed, you'll need to tell me(nicely plz). I'm probably asking for help with the modern build scene since I have no clue what's going on.

Does that not encompass everyone from America, inter alia, Chileans, Argentinians, Patagonians and Mexicans

I bet if I asked my mum what a graphics card was she couldnt guess

Out of context from another thread, but it reminded me of a guy from highschool.

Rewind to 2003! Bruce Almighty just came out and dumbguy said Carrey's Saleen S7 was actually a McLaren F1, when I pointed out the difference he got angry and said I was wrong. Good stuff.

We're walking past the IT block, there is a pile of old computers on the grass because our school liked looking like shit, dumbguy points into an open case and says "Look, you can see the hard disks" (they all had their single hard disks removed and he was pointing at the power supply)

"That's the power supply, look at the cables"

"No, those are to hook up the floppy and CD drives to the hard disk"

"That's not how it works"

"My dad bought a computer last year, I know what I'm talking about"

"We've had a computer at home since 1996 and my dad has worked in the industry since the '70s"

"What does industry have to do with computers?"

"*sigh audibly* the computer industry, coding etc."

"Well I looked in our computer a lot so I know what the bits are all for"

I think when I brought it up again a week or so later he was very subdued and changed the subject quite quickly. He was one of those *this is how I think *thing* works, which makes it fact, so I am right and everyone else is wrong* people. He also didn't understand that the moon does actually rotate, but in a way that we only see the same side, his main argument being "But why do we only see one side?" despite it being explained multiple times by our science teacher... I thankfully lost contact with him after school ended :)
