What would you do with a 108inch 4k TV?

VioDuskar
Go to solution Solved by NeatSquidYT,

sell it.

If I had to keep it, I'd try to play CSGO on it :P After that, see how porn looks on that big of a screen

that's a 9ft diagonal screen.

what would you do with it?

i'd mount it on an outside facing wall, and make the idle screen/ screensaver a picture of the outside of the wall the TV was affixed to.

or possibly hook a camera up to the outside wall and stream the video to the TV at idle.

basicly it'd look like the TV was a big window.

what would you do with a freaking huge 4k TV?

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

I have no use for a TV since I don't watch TV, so I would probably just sell it and buy i7-5770K Skylake and a Z170 motherboard when they come out. :P

I'd sell it and buy the upcoming 1440p 144hz IPS freesync panel instead. Probably would use the extra money for a case and PSU upgrade and a second 290x

It's about an eighth of the size of a cinema screen. You'd just sit further from it.

I can't put it in my living room because it would obstruct the actual window (they'd be more or less the same size lol), so I suppose it would go in the basement. I suppose I'd hook it up to my rig and use it for content consumption and couch gaming... sucks that I only have one DP lol

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

sudo chmod -R 000 /*

It's about an eighth of the size of a cinema screen. You probably shouldn't assume that you're going to sit so close to this that you need to physically turn your body to see a different part of the screen.

Sorry the imperial system is still strange for me

sell it and wait for 8k because the pixel density would be way too low.

Same. Assuming 16x9 aspect ratio, this would be a 2.39x1.34m TV. Big, but you wouldn't have to sit obscenely far away for it to still look ok at 4K.

EDIT: I feel I should clearly point out that I just used Pythagoras's Thoerem, Ratios and simultaneous equations to work this out: screw everyone who says "when am I ever going to use this" xD
