So your friend is AMD and hates Intel without knowing his/her's facts?

Intel's chipset, power consumption, heat output, reliability and CPU architecture are in a completely different world from AMD, It's hard to comprehend how far ahead Intel is from AMD. AMD is so far behind Intel.

AMD CPU's in this day are not worth it, AMD should focus all their attention on their amazing GPU's

so my friend is strictly and becaus "Intel is shady" what can I say to let him know that Intel has pros too!

Edit: he refuses to like/ buy their processors because they are "shady". Sorry for the confusion

Amazing how we've got a few people already trying to think of this as a comparsion with AMD. Let me shine some "light" on this "shady" situation.

For one, he's likely not talking about the products, but the business, as in the business practices. Intel has had some questionable and shady business dealings in the past -- wouldn't surprise me if they're still going on now. Chances are, though, the friend may be referring to something with which a lot of people take issue: Intel has major locations in Israel and is Israel's largest private-sector employer. I'm not here to debate the Israel vs. Palenstine thing, just pointing out facts, but the Israel vs. Palenstine thing is one reason a lot of people do not want to buy anything Intel makes. Their Qiryat Gat center, according to Intel, "represents the single largest investment ever made in Israel by the private sector" -- it was also allegedly built on the site of former Palestinian villages. I've seen rumors that Intel's involvement in and with Israel was a major factor in both Sony and Microsoft selecting AMD for their latest-gen consoles.

And if the friend is young, chances are that is what they're talking about. A lot of people right now do not like companies who have anything to do with Israel or who support Israel in any way because of perceived "human rights violations" against Palestinians. Again, I'm not here to debate the Israel vs. Palestine situation, only point this out.

If this is why your friend thinks Intel is "shady", you're likely not going to have much luck changing that perception. AMD has an R&D location in Israel, but has never had anywhere near the presence in Israel as Intel.

And @Geekazoid, Intel is derived from "integrated electronics", AMD is "Advanced Micro Devices".

Wife's build: Amethyst - Ryzen 9 3900X, 32GB G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4-3200, ASUS Prime X570-P, EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 12GB, Corsair Obsidian 750D, Corsair RM1000 (yellow label)
