Worst Tech mistake you have ever made?

Didn't know I had windows updates to install next time I booted, and I had just installed my new graphics card and did a test boot in the other room without a monitor to make sure power was working, had to force shut off, came back later and OS was half ruined. Could still use it, but it crashed when installing drivers. Took me two days to figure out what it was.

my cousin bought a pre build computer then just added a GT 450 and a 650w psu to it and thought it was such a amazing PC lol. When I had my old PC that had a AMD-FX 6300 and a R9-280 in it he would always tell me his was so muhc better then mine cause he had a 1tb Hdd and I had a 500gb.

I had a friend that wanted my help ... wait for it ................... wait for it ............. picking a ps4 .... (i know its not pc related but still)

Best thing has yet to come.. While being there (makro) he was hungry, so we went to the restaurant and bought some food (inc mine just for comming)

Back at his place i set up his ps4 and started to update,made him a psn account and instaling the games.

After im done and was going to leave he said "wait i need to pay you" im like dude, you bought me dinner its ok! he insisted and gave me 100 euro...

On a sidenote hes a total noob when it come to tech stuff even a ps4 or a smartphone !

 

I facepalmed myself so hard that day it still hurts ><

 

Wait... what? He bought you dinner then you returned to his place and he gave you 100 euro. Is there a part of this story that you are omitting by any change? :P

Drives me nuts when people feel a megalomania episode come upon them (like a stroke?) which instills them with sufficient motivation, desire and drive to take however many seconds/minutes out of their lives to perform said corrections. That by doing so somehow the history books have been righted and the corrections mean that the planet may continue to spin and all will be right in the greater universe :P

Seriously though what if the person you just corrected had a condition such as Dyslexia? You might have inadvertently really upset them and even made them feel inferior.

Next time I may leave off the spell checking when I post, just for you :)

People who spend over 1k on watercooling and don't overclock at all.

That sounds like something I'd do. I'm planning to get the 5770k when that comes out and SLI of the strongest Nvidia cards when I upgrade to run 4k games and develop on UE4 at such a res. I then plan on getting a nice custom loop and chuck dual 360mm radiators in there. Save the processor I really don't see a reason to overclock, I might not even need to with the CPU.

Done : didnt plug in the second set of pins into my graphics card after a new psu installation and flipped shit for like 2 hours panicking about how i have broken everything
