Will B450-A PRO MAX and Ryzen 5700x3D work together?

Hello!
Tomorrow my new CPU arrives Ryzen 5700x3D, and before I ordered it I only checked bios compatibility and slot. I already have a PC, the CPU is only an upgrade (I also got an RTX 4070 Super and new PSU which both arrive tomorrow).
My only worry is that I read on the internet that I might have troubles because of this motherboard's VRM and 5700x3d. Is it true? And if so, how big is the issue? I didn't have budget to get a new MB too, and I didn't know about this stuff before :(.

I wouldn't worry about it. The 5700X3D doesn't really draw that much power, so basically any motherboard on AM4 is fine enough to prevent the CPU from power throttling. I wouldn't want to run anything faster than a 5700X3D, but the 5700X3D should be OK on that board.

Worst case scenario you could just point a fan at the VRM and be OK.

Don't worry about the board, it's an OK VRM and it's cooled. Just make sure you have the latest bios.

You shouldn't have any issues with that combo.

I built a system with the mATX version of this board and a 2700x in it, and there have been no problems at all. I also have an MSI B450 Gaming Plus with a 5900x, essentially the same board, and even running that system quite hard it doesn't raise VRM temps up too much. Even with 105W TDP chips these boards are fine.

My Current Setup:

AMD Ryzen 5900X

Kingston HyperX Fury 3200mhz 2x16GB

MSI B450 Gaming Plus

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo

EVGA RTX 3060 Ti XC

Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB

WD 5400RPM 2TB

EVGA G3 750W

Corsair Carbide 300R

Arctic Fans 140mm x4 120mm x 1
