Avexir Unveils RAIDEN Series DDR3 Memory with PLASMA Tubes (DDR4 soon)

This double-height module features a plasma tube on its top, which lights up with a blue lightning-effect, which could look awesome in cyberpunk case-mods. The module could pair particularly well with ASUS Z97 Sabertooth Mark S, and MSI Krait series motherboards.

Also judging from the picture, a DDR4 variant  will be release soon.

Form aside, the module has some pretty formidable specs - an 8-layer main PCB, XMP profiles of up to DDR3-2400 MHz, a machined aluminium heatsink drawing heat away from the DRAM chips, and hand-binned DRAM chips for the best overclocked performance. The RAIDEN comes in speeds of DDR3-1866 and DDR3-2400, densities of 4 GB and 8 GB, and in dual- and quad-channel kits that are combinations of the two top-level specs. Avexir didn't reveal pricing or availability.

When I saw "Plasma Tubes" I thought they somehow contributed to DDR3 technology. Not a mere aesthetic feature. Also, it's DDR3, so I don't see how it's compatible with X99, unless there's DDR4 variants.

Gotta love Low-Profile <3
I feel in the future years RAM will start to sag like GPU
Lightning tubes? Really? All the 13 year olds will be lining up for these no doubt.

THIS COMMENTS ON TECHPOWERUP LEFT ME CRYING xD!!!

OH MY GOD that looks good. I want them to make the plasma tubes a standalone product so I can buy just those haha

but seriously this ram is freaking huge etc. etc. no point buying it just for aesthetics. I'll stick with my low-profile 1.5cm-high budget sticks tyvm.

I think I'll get a kit just for shits and giggles. Although, I'd definitely pry the heat spreaders off, it looks much cooler that way. The heat spreaders in the pictures look way too retro imo.

This is stupid as hell

And you bet I'm ordering a kit xD

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

Ugh, hideous (the white/blue chunk, the effect is pretty nice though). But I say enough with this "bling bling gam0r" nonsense (there's only so many "White Lightning" builds people can make). Most of the times those press images and the guys at conventions remind me of the car salesman from the Simpsons that makes cool noises and says stuff about "speed holes".

I can kinda see where you're coming from. They might be weird as hell and kinda dumb, but i think i have a perfect use. They would go great in my portal themed build I'm doing. Just gotta wait for ddr4 to be announced though :P (i know it's pointless but i want it xD)

Just a normal guy with a constant desire to modify everything he owns.
