Banning Russian AK and nobody bats an eye.

Bans AR-15 and people go nuts.

well sorry i said sniper instead of sniper rifle

Well sorry you pretended to own a firearm and got called out on your bullshit.

No self-respecting owner of firearm would call sniper RIFLE a "sniper."

Civilized countries do not disarm and enslave their citizens, which is what disarmament is.

Yeah, no intelligent gun owner uses their gun one single time. Shooting is a skill that has to be maintained, it is not like riding a bicycle and you can just get back on it. You obviously either do not own a gun, or are an extremely ignorant and irresponsible gun owner. Please, get some intelligence and stop being a posterboy for the other sides arguments.

Actually, you're worse than a "gun crazy redneck", at least the majority of them have some inkling of the power of what they wield, and practice with it constantly to maintain some modicum of safety. Whereas you appear to be an ignorant and unsafe gun user (or just a moronic troll).

Either way, IGNORED

Please... just stop. We all know you're lying. It's obvious. Any self-respecting gun owner takes their gun out at least a few times a year for maintenance, even if it's not used.

I clean my ak and sks atleast once every 2 months. My 12guage gets cleaned before hunting season. So yeah, you can't just keep it hidden and not touch it. Dust gets in it, it gets gummy and nasty.

@Jaybird You should have done a bit more reading before starting this thread.

The ban is NOT on all 5.56x45 or .223 rem ammunition, it is on the M855 62GR steel core projectile, which is very common in cheap commercially available military surplus ammunition.

They want to do this because they suddenly realized that the sales of AR pistols are extremely high right now because no one wants to sit around and wait for a tax stamp to build a proper SBR, now this only matters because there is already a law on the books banning "armor piercing" pistol ammunition. The ATF now wants to include the M855/SS109 round because of the prevalence of AR type pistols now in public circulation. These rounds are marked by the military with a green tip.

Here is a picture of two of my mags loaded with LC M855:

Now dont take this as my being in favor of the ban. This is just the government coming to the ground breaking conclusion that rifle rounds can penetrate pistol plates. No shit.

anyways my stance on guns is we need regulations to make it harder for criminals to purchase guns. the argument that they will get it either way is idiotic because not every murdering is a hard core mafia person with connections in the underground market.

So can a bow and arrow, or knife. OR you can just...not shoot at the plates/vest.

I can think of a number of ways to circumvent bullet proof vests and even military grade body armor, might as well ban ALL flammable liquids, glass bottles, and rags, which are far more effective close up.

I'm not going to enter in on the debate of whether this ban is good or not, BUT... if you can't learn to shoot a gun properly, then you shouldn't have one anyway. Having a "scope" doesn't make you magically able to hit anything. You still need to sight down the rifle properly.

Frankly, I feel like you're either:

1. Trolling this thread, or

2. You're telling the truth, and thus a danger to yourself and everyone around you, because you've no idea about the weapon you own or how to use it.

Using a sniper rifle for home defence is asinine, and possibly one of the most dangerous, and ineffective ways to protect yourself that you could possibly do.

Want effective home defence if you can't aim worth a damn? Buy a shotgun.

it is much easier to aim than a shotgun and as i said it is last resort

Yea because the total gun ban in France did something against the extremists who went on a rampage with AK-47's, right?

Granted it doesn't happen in France very often, but there aren't 300,000,000+ guns in France like in America.

A shotgun? All you have to do is point it somewhere near the person, and it'll work. A rifle doesn't spread it's loadout. A shotgun does, unless you're using slugs.

Not always true. My bolt action is shorter than my shotgun, so it would actually be easier to use in tight quarters than my shotgun.

You're not a gun owner. You're a pretender jumping in on the discussion to look cool.

I don't carry or own. I have shot the C7A2, but nothing else. How can I remember the name of a gun I don't even own, yet you just call it a "sniper" and you supposedly own it?

You're worse than the "2legit2quit" COD kiddies who think that they know everything about guns because they noscope360 with a .50 cal Barrett. Grow up already.

Stop being a bullshitting bullshitter. If you actually own one, lets see some proof. Otherwise piss off and peddle your bullshit elsewhere. You are an embarrassment to real gun owners if you actually do own one.

What is the difference in population and land area size? Not to mention all the terrorists killing people.

I supposed we're going to get the Joe Biden defense next, "just fire a couple of rounds through the door!" because that's safe and or legal.

The joke is that STEEL is not necessarily "armour-piercing" which from what I can tell was the reason for the ban.

It's actually less lethal than lead core ammo because it doesn't "sprawl", it just goes straight through and leaves a tiny hole, compared with a huge hole and lots of tearing, cutting, shrapnel, etc.
