Do you think I will be able to compete against other players in GTA 5 online on PC with controller?

bydus

I really enjoy playing PC games on my couch with controller and was wondering If I will be able to compete against other players in GTA 5 multiplayer with controller on PC when it comes out in 2053. Also do you think there will be many hackers ?

Not really, but maybe, gta has some wicked strong aim assist. Gotta see if that carries over to controllers on pc.

Possibly. Not in terms on driving, but possibly in terms of shooting (but the sticky aim is real)

And I don't think there will be a whole lot of hackers.

I've only once encountered a hacker GTA Online, PS3.

While I've seen quite a few hackers to say the least in something like COD

Depends on the game mode. If it's some kind of deathmatch then you'll probably have a disadvantage. If it's some kind of racing or flying thing then you'll be fine.

yes gta v wasn't really a tight fps if its anything like the ps4 or ps3 hack your heart out. there really isn't a lot to do online after you get a tank and not that in depth. you will be just fine.

Mouse and keyboard = natural aim hack.

Controller = needs assisted aim hack.

keyboard and mouse is always better for shooting. but is God awful when it comes to driving!! keyboard keys aren't variable resistors so they're either on or off. so it's either full throttle or not throttle, full steering or no steering.

Just make sure you're not heard by Track Mania players.

Controls in those games are actually very sell made for keyboard controls.

I play gta with a controller and aim assist on..i play all my shooters with a mouse and kb but gta just isn't that type of game...it was meant for a controller and as long as it has aim assist on it then you will have a chance.

Yes. Because the controller will have aim-assist option like it does on consoles. I played on the 'no aim-assist' lobbies on PS3 back when this first released and most people couldn't hit you if you were moving, AKA just walking around -- dat controller aim.

I'll be using a controller, GTA is a fun game not some hardcore competitive FPS where you need the reflexes of a chipmunk on cocaine, just play with whatever you're more comfortable with. I for one will be on my sofa on the big screen with a xbox controller running to my PC :)

I like to use a controller because I'm usually offroading or driving lol. But I also a controller for LCPDFR because its easier to drive IMO.

Mouse accuracy is paramount,... without mouse acceleration.

Keyb+Mouse cover me for 80% of my gaming needs, inc Trackmania :)

Controller/Wheel is the other 20%

I shoot more than I drive...

Looking forward to GTA5 if there is no mouse assist crap forced on it.

in gta4 im pretty sure the controller will autoaim? so if that happens in five you may have an advantage

I will stink no matter how I play it but definitely I will not be playing with a controller.  Heck I have a copy of the game for console and still haven't touched it after getting it for free kind of with points from SDM.  I want to play the single player but MPer I'd get my *** handed to me in a huge way even worse than on pc.  I couldn't have fun with a shooter on console unless it is coop with my son or others and as for single player some games I just can't get used to the controls.  One example was BF4 on console using a controller.  In regards to GTA V on console I may never even end up playing it as I might try to trade it for something I'd really use more.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S

Yes, you'll be fine, I've been playing for a long while without mouse and keyboard now. I'm as competitive on a controller as I am on a KB+M if not more so.

It's the same with KB+M, you have to learn to use it properly and adjust your settings till your happy.
