Return rate of GeForce GTX 970 after memory scandal is below 5%

There is not a high return rate because the 970 is still a great card regardless of the "ramgate" issue.

But I'm not questioning the source - what I'm questioning is the reality of the numbers. 5% are what seems to be the numbers they gathered, yet they LACK to measure the actual figures of people with the intent to get refund and are being denied and facing barriers - the intentions of the people are irrelevant, since what they measure was people who actually managed to get refunds - something that was only allowed by a few retailers and few manufacturers.

So this "5%" are the real measured numbers, yet they are "bullshit" because neither NVIDIA, neither alot of manufacturers and retailers allowed for refunds. This has nothing to do with people claims, it's their official position about refund a product falsely advertised.

Consumers are stupid if they let companies continue to take advantage of them.  I actually take a stance against companies garbage.  I have stopped buying from certain companies before and I can do it again whereas many consumers don't and thus they are stupid.

people bitching on forums is not an indication of any returns being denied.  Although I am sure there are some we don't know what the reasoning for that is nor do we know how far reaching that is.

It just isn't a big enough issue to most people to warrant crippling their PC by cutting out a GPU for however long a return would take. I'm satisfied with my 970 but like many others, a little ticked that Nvidia (I think purposely) misled consumers. At 1440p I'm doubtful the lowered ram will cause any tangible issues.

When you have a company that made ZERO official statements, and you have SEVERAL manufacturers and resellersthat claimed NVIDIA would not allow for refund - if you wet yourself you should check a fucking doctor ASAP, you either have physical that do not allow you to retain fuilds, or mental issues that make you release fluids over typing about NVIDIA refunds.

Please, prove me;

1) A benchmark a 970 performing dramatically worse than the 980/290x with a 780 3GB included in the test

2) You really need 4GB for 4K

3) That you'll be able to play at playable framerates at 4GB

4) A 970 not being capable of running 4GB

Now proof please instead of bickering Nvidia like you always do, but you never criticize AMD for lying such as Mantle offering "8-core parallel rendering" in BF4 when the process BF4.exe is missing like 3 threads to do "8-core parallel rendering". When is AMD offering a true 8 core as a replacement for the 8350 which was advertised as a 8 core? 

Also I'd like to say, the L2 cache/ROPs aren't lasercut it's impossible to lasercut that out, usually they cut a full block out like a SMX unit or a x86 core/IGP etc. Enabling them again with a firmware update is possible given they are functional.

I'm not surprised by this. Most of the people returning were people on tech forums. Not that many games go over 3.5GBs of vram at 1080p. I asked a single question and I still ask - What games use over 3.5GBs of vram at 1080p very high, 2x aa and can you name 50 of them? No one seemed to know the answer. Oh well the card is still the same card at launch. Shame on Nvidia for lying. I wonder what AMD has to offer.
