i talked with an nvidia rep and he gave me a dying light code as an apology :}

I would of asked for shadow of mordor but thats just me lol. At least they care.

i didn't ask for a specific game, I just asked if there were any Pick your Path codes left over since i bought the card right after that promo but right before the vram news was out.. worst timing ever xD

On second thoughts, I'd take an R9 3xx GPU after returning my GTX 970 IF they are willing to admit that the FX line was 'a complete fuck up', they accept the AMD DX-40 and the early Athlon (the one that kicked the crap out of Intel offerings for a while) were the best CPUs they ever made (maybe the phenoms as well, having a higher IPC then their replacements is embarrassing), and publicly admit all of the general consumers and companies that bought the FX and opteron line got lied to about the true core count of the CPUs ("8 cores" is 4, "16 cores" is 8).

Sounds to me like amd is a bit of an asshole

 

If this is so I dislike AMD even more for leeching off of the succes of others by simply not doing anything interesting or innovative and point out wrongdoings in other people's ambitions then good job AMD. I dislike you even more.

 

This is very cheap on their part. And I don't believe a word of it.

AMD's real motive behind this is to make its customers forget they still haven't made a good CPU or a GPU that can't also act as a power hungry heater. :lol:

It is good marketng plain and simple. It's not dirty, childish, pathetic or morally wrong (some strange morals I guess), it's agressive and strategic. Some may not like it because they have too much brand loyalty and it's a shot at their favorite company. However, the problem is the next time they screw up it wil just get thrown in their face and it will be worse than what they are doing now, and they can't or shouldn't cry foul. Nvidia is tops in the GPU right now so they can just point to how their 980 is better than the top single gpu AMD has to offer, and let's nit forget efficiency.
