What should I spend my money on?

awesomes8wc3

I have ~$130 left over from Christmas (maybe a bit more after some old parts are sold)

Should I:

A ) Buy a camera Slider (Don't have one, have been putting my camera on a skateboard. Have been thinking about a Glide Gear DEV-1000 or 33. $100 for that.)

B ) Buy a new hard drive, WD Caviar Green 3TB (current one is WD Caviar Black 1TB, 256gb free. Cost: $130)

C ) Buy cases for my servers (both of my servers are currently running off of the PSU box. Cost: $100)

D ) Buy a new PSU, eVGA Supernova 750G2 (current one is Corsair VS650, it is a bit loud. Cost: $145 (out of stock currently))

E 1 ) Fix ancient DVR ($5, Panasonic DMR-E85H, bad HDD flatflex.)

E 2 ) Gut the DVR and build a new HTPC inside it! (~$170. Destroys nostalgia and the unit. Current HTPC is an old Ath64 4400+ tower, 1gb ram, 80gb IDE bootdrive, 750gb WD Caviar Blue media drive blablabla.)

pc specs: 4 function calculator / 8 digit lcd display / colored numeric and function buttons

How would them not being in cases kill them? Dust maybe (I do clean them, I promise!)? I've been running machines out in the open for a bazillion years fine. Its messy as hell though.

It would be nice having them in cases, though. More prettier and less space taken up because I can stack them.

If you game save up that cash for a new video card.

don't need one, don't play games, but when I do, its CHIPS CHALLENGE!!!

Not D and E

If you would get a lot of use out of the slider then I'd say go for that, but don't spend money for the sake of it (unless you are uber rich).

IMO. Save it for a rainy day.

Second choice would probably be homes for those servers.

Invest it. Buy some stock. Put it in a Roth IRA. Save it for college. Whatever you do, don't spend it unless you find a reason to. Having money but not knowing what to spend it on is wholly the wrong way to look at it. Keep it. Invest it. Store it until you have a goal in mind.

@person_on_forum I know right! I made thousands this year selling ram off of downloadmoreram.com! I'm so glad my rich Arabian uncle from skype told me about it!

EDIT: So that tagged an actual person somehow.

Don't buy a slider, build your own. Film Riot has a really nice how to video on how to make a nice one. Truthfully, I'd spend the money on really nice booze or maybe another hard drive for RAID 1 (you can never have too much redundancy) otherwise, I would save it. :)
