Maybe 10% better at the most it is Maxwell but it's not 20nm according to sources that is when we see the "real" 800 series.

Nvidia can't fire him, he works for Gigabyte. If I was this guy's boss, I would keep him around and just feed him false information to leak for the lulz.

gigabytes cooler classifying is strange, I think they are the only ones who market their gpu coolers a being able to disperse "450W" of heat, and so its kinda irrelevant seeing how ASUS doesn't say how many watts their particular cooler can disperse. One must assume the Gigabyte cooler can do more yet the ASUS card runs near the same temperature.

This new line of cards will also have LED indicators, something that is common for all ultra-high-end graphics cards.

No doubt they'll be some stupid colour that will clash with everyone's builds. Just give us a god damn plain card, we like it that way.

I think his job is safe, there are no direct quotes and he was mostly talking about cooling options for new cards to be released in september. we don't know that he specifically said 880 or if that's the interpretation of vidiocardz.

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.

I was in a rush going out when I post this story this morning, and I didn't check the source of VideoCardZ's article, but I fadedly remember this morning when I post the story, VideoCardZ was using the term "GTX 880", instead of "GTX 800 series" in their article. Maybe they have changed the story, or I have read their story wrong this morning, and made a mistake. I'm still double checking reposts of this article from other forums or sites, to confirmed whether I have read their story wrong, or they have updated their story. If I have made a mistake, I would apologize to you all. At this moment, I modified the post according to VideoCardZ's article, and Expreview's article.

Videocardz was showing it as GTX 880 earlier when I checked it. Though, their source is saying 800 series.

You can even tell by the title on Videocardz, mentions 880 there, but 800 series everywhere else.

Thx for verifying my story!~

btw, there is translation errors in VideoCardZ's story about the cooler. I remember this morning VideoCardZ mentioned in their article that the new G1 card will come with a new cooler. But what Mr.Liu said actually, is that the new cooler will be available next yr, in 2015, and the cooling capacity of the current windforce cooler is 450w, but they may release a 650w variant.

A new rumor everyday, and here I am, waiting patiently for the 880. I'm not gonna build until late Q4 2014 anyways so I'm in no hurry.

Just to clarify, we did not update our story. He is talking about GTX 800 series and September. It doesn't take a genius to understand that he means 880 and 870 ;) Due to NDA, he cannot name the cards.

No need to apologize, people should heck the article for themselves before making comments anyway.  Besides, regardless of what videocardz calls the new card, there is still no quote marks and nothing to definitely link gigabyte to what they are claiming.  They just make it sound like it was him saying it, (which he may still have done, we just don't know).

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.
