How light is that mouse? Been using a HyperX for a  while but its gotten a buggy sensor and im tired of it bugging out. The software doesnt recognize the mouse so it wont update the firmware x)

Seems im using a HyperX PulseFire Pro, 120g is a bit heavy. (But since my G403 died in just 3 years.. not going for Logitech next time.)

Depends on the configuration you use. It can be anywhere from like 65g to 73ish?

Anything below 80 is good, G403 wasnt that heavy either i think.

Think ill try one of these PWNAGE mouses as a next.. Just hope it exists in norway and i dont need to wait 2 months shipping *nervous laugher*

e: oh i see its wireless, cant have that. Gotta have wire, wireless mouses without charging mousepads is junk to me.

40 hours is not something i want to risk, time go google if they have wires.

Picked up a pair of sapphire toxic r9 270x’s for pretty cheap, in their box. They arrived probably this Friday.

Figured they’d be fun for some crossfire stuff and would also look nice on a shelf.

D4D3EC4E-297F-4916-A870-B5B0943DB0AB.jpeg.133a3c7e2572cbfbf9a10b36275148a5.jpeg

I might just do a modern build with them, I’ve been waiting to pull the trigger on an i3 10100F and H470 board, might make for an interesting “budget build” since these two cards in crossfire are like an R9 290x with less video memory to work with, and they’re still cheaper than an RX 580 combined with the price issues gpus have right now.

But these are fairly available and not too overpriced, so used R9 series crossfire might be a reasonable option these days for people on a budget who can’t find a 1060 or anything cheap.

New part is here!
@BondiBlue, figured you might like this:
iMac G5 ALS 2.0 GHz 17" logic board.

Or just 820-1747-A.

Spoiler

20210415_163023.thumb.jpg.2d3ff5ea3c0383a3350d29df11328c36.jpg

Plus 2x256MB of DDR 400. That's going to my P4/XP gaming rig (once I finish it) since I already have 2x1GB of DDR 400.

Spoiler

20210415_163036.thumb.jpg.7963dedd1227e220c49a61f3bc187660.jpg

Cost me $40 + $11.10 shipping + tax, so ~$55.

Actually, wait - that says 820-1540-A...

And apparently that's the 2 GHz 20" ALS iMac G5 logic board...?

Huh.

After looking at the board, I think it's the 1.8 GHz 17" ALS iMac G5. Oh well - 200 MHz difference is a small price to pay.

Anyway, gonna put together the iMac now!

Oh. Without a doubt one of my favorite iMac models ever!!!

That's complete sarcasm. I really don't care too much for those machines. They aren't terrible, but they're somehow even more unreliable than the 2011 iMacs and 15"/17" MacBook Pros. Just kidding, I don't really hate them.

Mine had a dying GPU. I tried booting a Leopard installer and all I got was a blank light blue screen and after a bit, artifacting - black lines followed my mouse cursor.

So I yanked the old board out (minus everything that could be detached with screws and/or moderate yanking, stuffed it in an antistatic bag, and taped inside the shell.

Hoping the replacement board I got works!

EDIT:
It doesn't.

My board had pin sockets for the backlight, while the new board has pins for the backlight.

Dang it 😠
I was looking forward to this...

Back to getting photography gear.

Got a Smallrig L-bracket for the Fujifilm X-T3, complementing the other Smallrig bracket that I have attached to the optional vertical battery grip.

The main reason is that carrying the X-T3 together with the battery grip has been hard especially as an everyday carry since it makes the camera much heavier, more akin to a beefed up DSLR than a relatively compact mirrorless setup. This should help whilst giving me more to hold onto in order to improve comfort especially with larger glass like the XF 50-140 f/2.8.

Awesome, I had a 270X Crossfire system back in 2015 and they were great, just the limiting factor was the VRAM at 2GB.

real wooden grip or just a skin?

though i do love the old school aesthetic of silver top portion along with the deep patterning of the body

Looks and feels like it's real wood. Entire grip seems to be made out of the stuff.

†

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
        In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
        In Flanders fields.

Cry havoc and let slip the Togs of war.  (Signature V3)
