I have a number of old macs to play around with old software...  Granted this one isn't the most interesting, but my Titanium G4 is having issues so that's another G4 with firewire to play with old camcorders, and the last gen of that too.

Mostly that for $35 shipped it was too hard to pass 😄 It's in great condition, fully working, even the battery's still holding a couple of hours...

For $35 looks cool. BTW, CA$35 is what I paid for Apple's FireWire-to-Thunderbolt2 adapter lol

I am a certified giant idiot. This phone is not replacing my 13 Pro Max by any means, instead it's more or less a supplement. My current Android fuck-around phone is a Stylo 4 which sucked on release and sucks even more now, and I'd kinda like to see what Android is up to now. I'll also finally go through the effort of setting up AirMessage, that way I can still text from it (I'll throw my spare limited-data number on it). Ultimately it'll likely stay at home 99% of the time, but sometimes I'm sure I'll feel spicy and end up carrying around two phones.

LG 49WL95C-WY 60Hz 5120x1440 IPS

it was on sale last month and is perfect for my productivity.  I considered the Samsung super ultra wide panels, which looked really nice.  I preferred the less aggressive curvature and IPS of this LG panel over the Samsung panel.  My laptop maxes output at 60Hz, so this was perfect match.  LG does make a 144Hz IPS in this size too.

I'm using MS Power Toys Fanzy Zones to setup custom grids.  I also had to modify my Taskbar more to the center and speed up my mouse pointer so that I didn't have to  navigate my mouse across 49" desktop to click my taskbar icons.

In mid october I got my hands on an OG Vive kit for 155 EUR. It included the headset, controllers, base stations, and everything else.

Wasn't too satisfied with the headphone situation on the vive, and the res was too low.

Sold my Vive headset for 90 EUR and picked this puppy (Vive Pro) up for 115. Getting new cables and a new linkbox did add to the cost of the upgrade, but overall I now have a full Vive Pro kit that I basically paid 250 euro for.

Edit: love this thing to bits

An ORECK Upright Commercial Vacuum Cleaner XL2100RHL $140 on sale last month.  It weighs only 9lbs (not including the cord)

There are a few things that make this Oreck "Commercial" XL2100RHL upright cost less than the much more expensive consumer Orecks uprights.

This doesn't have the middle handle on the upright tube (handy for carrying up and down stairs).

It comes with cheap paper bag (not filtered and definitely not a HEPA bag)

It doesn't have the headlights.

It doesn't have a "bag dock" adapter built in.

It doesn't have the auto shutoff when it senses the motor is spinning faster than the roller brush.  *Consumer models have an extra circuit board with a sensor that reads a magnet that rotates on the consumer model roller brush.  That is to prevent burning up a belt.  I'll simply try to avoid shoelaces and tassels and ribbons etc on the floor.  I'll also have a few extra belts for backup.

It has a single speed switch while consumer models have two speeds (they have an added low speed for hardwood floors for example).

I made a "modification".  I added an Oreck "bag dock" for $12 USD and a 6 pack of Oreck Superior HEPA bags for $30 (the purple Oreck bags).

The bag dock doesn't normally come with "Commercial" line of Oreck vacuums..  The bag dock is a plastic hinged adapter plate that better secures the inner vacuum bag to the air hole where the dust enters the bag.  Otherwise, without the "bag dock", as the bag gets full of debris and heavier, it could slip off the air-hole piece.  Definitely worth the $12.

When removing the full bag, a sliding trapdoor closes over the bags opening so that no puffs of dust escape from the hole when tossing it in the trash bin.   We added lavender scented fragrance pods to a little pouch in the outer bag.

It doesn't come with ANY attachments or "tools".  I'm planning to purchase the Oreck handheld canister vacuum which handles those types of duties.

I love it.  It has a heavy duty 35' cord and it works great for our floors (wooden floors and regular medium shag carpet).  I actually look forward to vacuuming instead of letting the other person do it.  This thing has an old school vibe and replaces our broken Dyson, *which I think is basically a glorified dirt devil or bissel.  No offense to Dyson fans.  I'm done with "bagless" vacuums. 😄

Haven't been in a while

Recently Upgraded my laptop with a new SSD

The 2TB 980 pro was on sale quite recently on Amazon for $180 and I managed to pick one up right before it sold out

My old SSD that came with my laptop is 500GB, which is pathetic for the intensive and epic variety gaming I do

Absolutely loving it so far with the freedom of downloading

Oh I also got new ram, pretty dope

Here's the innards of my latest acquisition: A Sony Vaio VGC-RC210. Mine shipped with a Pentium D @ 3.0GHz, 1GB of RAM, a Radeon X300, and factory RAID 0 provided by a pair of 160GB WD drives. One of those drives must have failed early on since my example had only one left (with relatively low POH) and a 500GB Barracuda 7200.12 acting as the only powered drive. I've already upgraded it to 2GB of RAM and a Radeon HD 6670, as well as a 120GB 840 EVO for funsies.

Another technics cd player, this time a 150

which arrived without the transport peg in and had a dead laser

swapped working laser from the 101 into the the working tray from the 150, and put it all back in the 101 and now I have one working 80’s cd player

problem with 80’s cd players, they don’t like modern cds

I have a few current releases on CD and they will not play, idk if they’re just hosting flacs or something like media discs but modern stuff won’t play

Namely this, Reflect by rchetype, which I also got today

this is I think 48khz 24 bit which the player from 1985 doesn’t know what to do with

and also any modern CDs with disc printing make scratchy noises on tracks 1-3

If it's a real compliant Audio CD it'll play. If they did weird things like write SACD/DVD Audio data to a CD or files it won't because it's not actually an Audio CD.

This pair of Corsair RAM is for my main rig, I figured now would be a good time to go 32GB as DDR4 prices are pretty good

i would say overall most(if not all) phones design now more or less the same , not just apple , most being a slate/tablet style , kinda wish the old Nokia was still in business though ,they made some really out there designs ..

I ordered YMDKEY keycaps.  It may take a few weeks the caps to get here from China.  I ordered two sets:

These are going on my 2013 Max Blackbird keyboard which currently has

ABS - OEM - DOUBLE SHOT - backlight shine through - Cherry MX Brown switches with North face LED
