As a techie what is your ultimate show of trust

So I have a cousin who has hit a rough spot in her life and in passing she was talking about how much she loves the fallout franchise, but doesn't get to play it often, and that got me thinking about how I have fallout NV installed, so I have been downloading and installing mods throughout today to have the game ready for tomorrow so she can play, and that has me thinking about another thing, this is also a big leap for me because I never let ANYONE touch my PC.. it is not something I do, I'm the kind of person who lives with family and still has a PC password, and keeps aware of any changes to my setup to know whether or not anyone has tried getting on

 

What is your ultimate show of trust as a techie?

When it comes to tech I don't really have one. I mean, if it breaks I'll fix it. I'm a techie, it's what I do.

To me its letting someone use my PC. Letting my sister use it to play games on was a big risk to me but she didn't break anything so she can work away.

When it comes to tech I don't really have one. I mean, if it breaks I'll fix it. I'm a techie, it's what I do. 

for me if something breaks I lack the means to by more parts

Letting anyone on my computer to do what they will without me nearby or anywhere near my portable hard drive that literally stores all of my important data... No one has yet deserved that privilege.

one thing that I do if someone NEEDS to use my PC is I will only hand them the keyboard... I control the mouse, and stay in the seat, because I find discomfort makes people finish what they are doing faster

I guess mine would be letting someone work on my computer hardware or even touch them while I'm doing maintenance or whatever.

I'm just obsessively paranoid that they may mess things up or delete some of my data by an accident of my portable HDD. Hence why it is a computer that only I use unless I'm playing a game with someone.

Nothing. People are not to touch my stuff, even if I trust them.

Letting them touch my camera(s) and lens(es). 

 

Don't really care about anything else. Almost every piece of tech besides my lenses are depreciating assets. Nothing really stays worthy. So if it breaks, I'll live. 

 

Lenses however. They keep their value well. Good for resale, and in general they are pricey to fix. I'd prefer not to send off my 70-200 or 50 1.2 because some hack handled it the wrong way and dropped it. Those things are a little harder to just go and replace.
