Ubisoft promises Far Cry 4 on PS4, Xbox One is equal to high-end PC

TwistedDictator
Hutchinson also talked about showing off how beautiful Far Cry 4 is on both next-gen consoles, and PCs, where he said: "We want the gameplay experience to be the same on all platforms so we're leaning on technical differences. Everything you see, whether it's the fur on the animals, the grass on the ground or the leaves on the trees. All these things are bumped up a huge amount in the next gen version".

In otherwords they are going to gimp the PC. Sadly PC gamers wont boycott Ubi, but I wont be buying their games :)

How does ubisoft plan to achieve this goal?
Oh right by extremely unoptimising the game so people on pc can't run it any better than the console versions, got it.

Ubisoft for the last while has definitely been worse than EA.  Rayman Legends incident,  Watch Dogs incident, moving to Uplay with no incentives I have seen for the players, Tom Clancy's The Division n 30 fps and now the Far Cry 4 story ....

Seriously at least EA has been giving people free games for crying out loud.  LOL

And OP if consumers don't speak with their wallets it is sad.  Ubisoft is so full of themselves now and they really need to be brought back down to earth and crushed.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S

Ubisoft are truly on a downward spiral... sad to see a company that was once known for its great games begin to be associated with all this negativity.

Or in other words, the PC will be made equal to consoles.

It's a real shame that very few game devs are actually pushing PC hardware. I want a game that I actually need to wait for next gen GPUs in order to max out properly.

you mean that you have to wait for the right(graphical) reasons you mean, shitty optimization can also make a game require "next gen" hardware.

I didn't find Far Cry 3 all that great (though I haven't played it much) really. So I'm not too bummed about Ubisoft being Ubisoft.

I don't know. I don't understand everyone's attraction to big open world games. GTA IV, Far Cry 3, Skyrim, Just Cause 2, etc etc all were "ok" for me. I only really enjoyed GTA IV because it's GTA.

I guess they just aren't my type of games. I'm not particularly enjoying Watch_Dogs either.

Yeah. I want something that's so demanding on the graphically demanding that I can't max it right now. Obviously not just a shitty optimised game (:

I know what you mean about Watch_Dogs. It doesn't interest me at all.

Pretty much the only game I'm really looking forward to is Mirror's Edge 2.

And how exactly do they plan to do that? Even if they do implement the Mantle API, the consoles are still potatoes that won't even compare.

It just means the games Ultra settings are what the consoles will run and they won't make any extra effects for PC.(Besides the Nvidia ones like TXAA and HBAO+)

So will they lock the game to 1080p or 900p because you could run that game at 4k if you wanted. Or will they just un optimize the game so it runs at 30 fps all the time.
