Ubisoft promises Far Cry 4 on PS4, Xbox One is equal to high-end PC

TwistedDictator

Because they make PC graphics worse and worse. If people are clever they must not buy games from UBISOFT. they laugh at us, at PC gamers! guys pls do not buy their games. use pirated versions for free :) they will make better looking games on PC.

those that do backups
those that have never had a hard drive fail.

Ubisoft has seriously gone too far. Don't get me wrong I love the games that they have made assasins creed is amazing and one of my favorite series of all time, but honestly with all of the stuff that they have been doing recently I refuse to preorder unity from a company that literally has implied for pc gamers to just go piss off or buy a console. Pc gamers need to unite and fight this. Love their games but the company needs to keep their mouth shut. Everyone knows consoles arent as powerful as gaming pcs. Its supposed to be that way. People who own consoles simply don't care and they shouldn't. They bought a product to play video games and they are playing video games how they want to play video games. Now why can't Ubisoft let pc gamers play games how they want to play their games up to whatever they built can handle.

Its just such bullsh*t, in two years there will be a $500 GPU that will outperform the Titan Z and the R9 295x2. And the amount of porn tabs someone has open will make the GPU and CPU work harder than a game made for 'all current platforms.'

No, this just means that the consoles were able run the ultra settings that were planned for the PC version. Why is everybody getting that statement wrong? Apparently there's too much emotion involved because of Watch Dogs. But of course Ubi is not going to make another step of settings just to differentiate the PC from the consoles. There's not going to be any "extreme" or "enthusiast" setting for sure. But I'm actually happy with what they said, particularly about how they develop on PC as a lead platform - this is evident by how great of a game FC3 was on PC. I'm sure FC4 is gonna be the same.

EA is actually doing much better right now. The BF: Hardline beta runs very good and is quite enjoyable, even though the tickrate is still 10hz.

I thought the tick rate was 30Hz, didn't they carry over some fixes from the BF4 CTE?

Surprisingly,i started to love EA.

Go fk yourself ubisoft!

So true, EA is still a moneywhore but at least gives us what we pay for. Apart from Ubisoft, which thinks a HD7750 or similar crap used in the consoles is equal to a 780 in performance and a guy with a $500 XBONE should have the same experience as the guy with a high end $2000 PC. So much blind equality... reminds me of the old times of socialism.

But as long as I can torrent all their overhyped games I don't care.

Ubi realised they couldn't get best company of the year award so they changed tact and decided to aim for the somewhat easier goal of worst.

Such a shame, up until this year I was starting to warm up to them, in saying that they haven't really published any games that stand out to me since Farcry 1 so...

'is going to be bumped up for the next-gen consoles'

They mean PC is going to be bumped down.

U WOT M8?!?!!? Hahahaha yeah right there's no way they could make a machine with hilariously bad hardware run a game with as good of graphics and framerate as a high end PC. That is, unless they make it look terrible on PC purposely so that all the console noobs won't be too butthurt. It's funny when my console friends try to say Xbone or PS4 is better than PC, then have no way to backup their claim lol.

Again, why is this a surprise, farcry 3 the only main differences were AA and a few post effects plus resolution,  thats likely what we'll see in this games as far as improvements over console.

Let's look at the hard[ware] facts: The Xbone and PS4 are basically 2 Athlon 5150 low-power quad-core CPUs combined (so not even comparable, core for core, to the FX CPUs) and the equivalent of an HD 7770 and 7790. How the heck could that ever match the capability of an i5/i7 or FX-83XX and GTX 760/ HD 7950/ R9-280+ or even close to that? It simply cannot.

This can only mean one thing: They are developing the game for the console hardware and doing nothing to enhance the PC version beyond that (or disabling the enhanced settings for PC like they did with Watch Dogs).

Ubisoft is no longer walking on thin ice, they've broken through it.

To be honest, I don't hate the Xbone or PS4. They are what they are. The problem is the people behind them, companies like Ubisoft that try to make these consoles compete with PC's on the same graphical level, which is just not possible and never will be!!! And they know it!

How about this: start making games and advertise the quality and features of the GAME, not it's resolution or frame rate. When I played the Mass Effect series on xbox 360, I didn't care so much about the resolution or frame rate, as long as it looked reasonably good and played smooth (which it did, for the most part). I played the heck out of that series because the GAME was amazing, not because it had good graphics. And in the case of that particular series, the 360 version was better than the PC version because of all the extra exclusive content that enhanced the experience and added to the story! (IMO) From what I've heard from a lot of people, the actual game (game play, story, experience etc.) of Watch Dogs, isn't that great anyways!!! They have lost focus of what gaming is all about, something I believe Nintendo has always and still does right. Make it about the games, concentrate on making good games. Don't try to make your system out to be something it is not or compete with something it cannot by hindering/handicapping the other.

Ubisoft is basically making a triple-A game with mediocre graphics (for PC), at best. They didn't learn from Watch Dogs and now they're doing it all over again. Idiots. <_<
