Adding badges for long time members

Yeah, I know, it's a vanity item, but I still love them

I think it'd be a neat thing for long time forum members to have. Maybe something like a different badge for 5 year, 10 year, etc?

Depends on the badge, there used to be a list but I think they got rid of it.

The F@H awards and such you get from being part of those communities. The Office Builder I got from donating when they were saving up for the office.

There's slight problem thought. Badges are awarded manually. So as with Folding/BOINC, there would need to be thread to claim a badge. Otherwise moderation would be just handing out hundreds to thousand badges daily.

Depending on how far back you go there will be fewer and fewer people who are both eligible for the badge and still active on the forum; we just got to the point where people have been around for over 10 years, I don't think a whole lot of us are still here

Which is why having thread to redeem makaes sense. Not just handing them out to everyone.

Yeah, that's kind of how I'd picture it working...since that's the way it is with other badges now, unless they're paid for.

I'm pretty sure titles used to just be text and not its own little badge.

Maybe people would like to be recognized for their commitment and contributions to this forum? Much the same way people get recognized for years of service at a workplace. Or when soldiers get medals and ribbons in the military. You might not care, but some appreciate the gestures which is why they exist.
