In other news, I'm seeing the odd golden Alzeimers project 12424 WU:

 

When I get one on the 4090 it pulls 320W and predicts 30M PPD, but they're completely random it seems so you're just as likely to get a lower than Cancer WU too, so you can't hit that PPD.

For anyone curious, I am a FIRST Robotics mentor at a local high school, and I wanted to help get their minds into an engineering mindset to be ready for the upcoming season (if you have never been a part of FIRST, and have any interest in robots, photography, and graphics design and would like to help teach the next generation of a learners, I would 100/10 recommend. There is even a show on Disney+ called "More Than Robots" that goes over a bit of what we do).

FIRST is awesome!  I'm just sad it started shortly after I was out of school.

I started school after the 8 bit computing boom.  Apparently had I been a little older they would have actually taught programming at school.  We had a computer room of 8 bit micros that barely ever got used as they had moved on to teaching kids how to use word processors, desktop publishing, etc on 32bit machines with UIs.

 

Probably wouldn't have made much difference as I don't have a good memory or Math skills, but its annoying as who knows if I would have gotten my head around PHP and Javascript a lot quicker had I picked up the basics of programming sooner. I had a few books on BASIC but could never quite get my head around them.

 

Even once I got online there was only really HTML, as Javascript wasn't really a thing yet.

went out of town to look for a fridge and also bought a decent amount of dvd for a local liberay system. its a cop op for small system.

I have had many laptops my big sticking point was as you can see below i have gone from well 10/11” - 17” and seem to always settle back at 15-16” (I’m a nerd so just covering my main Laptop type computers)

 

Disclaimer: note i worked for a certain computer company for several years so was maybe partial to them and resold the computers with each upgrade I No longer work for them and haven’t for almost a decade now (that makes me feels old saying that) Some may be slightly out of order

I've left it open here in Firefox since the start of the event, though I do check it every day.  Would be funny if this only happens on Chrome.

No issue with it being open all the time on Safari.  If I go offline or ignore the sheet for a couple days, when I come back I'll get the lots of changes reload thing, but not the other.  I'm pretty sure this is based on Chrome basically pausing background tabs, and google thinking everybody is always connected.

I have no issues with it crashing in edge. I don’t trust chrome and I don’t touch chrome personally, I don’t trust Google either.

I might age myself here, but I have been using Spreadsheets from the days of Lotus 123... (although I was in grade school at the time). I have left google sheets on for weeks at a time and never had any issues... Use it all the time for just basic sheet functions. Works great for my basic needs of an online easy to access to spreadsheet to work with others on. But for more demanding stuff there is the MS Excel and I use Smartsheets a LOT.

I leave my F@H stats page open all the time in Chrome (I literally only use Chrome for things I want to keep updating and YouTube).   Not noticed any problems there though obviously orders of magnitude simpler JS than Google Sheets.

i remeber that software. only used it once in mid 90s

we still have people at my office that complain we don't still support lotus123.  though most have retired since april 2020...

We still have some old lotus files that we need to dig up and look at sometimes. some of the 'free' software suites will load the file.

well, they ran a forced conversion on all network drives and local drives when they did the migration here 30some years ago. have yet to come across one at my office.

LOL - was wondering why my points were consistently lower than expected. Sure enough one of my slots (RTX 3070) had a typo in the username. So while I was contributing to the Team it was not adding to my total. 99,567,609 points to the wind.

 

At least it was my slowest GPU

Its very frustrating they do not have a verification stage where if your username and key do not match it flags it.

I didn't notice it until I went looking for it and enabled the display of "username" in HfM which highlights inconsistent names and Teams in Orange.
